Job Description

Position Summary: Responsible for managing a specific market segment along with all aspects

of the sales process. Plan solicit, book and coordinate sales to meet/exceed revenue goals.

1. Solicit, negotiate and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts i.e.;

outside sales calls, telemarketing, direct mail, referrals, networking, internet prospecting,

etc. to maximize revenues to meet/exceed goals.

2. Develop and implement creative sales strategy by analyzing historical, current and future

hotel/market/account trends.

3. Communicate accurate information for in house groups to assist operations in servicing

them properly.

4. Conduct site visits and prepare proposals to impress the client.

5. Engage in networking events.

6. Understand forecasting report and assist in compiling reports when needed.

7. Keep abreast of budgeted revenue goals and develop action plans to achieve goals.

8. Ensure all guest checks, payments, master folios and advance deposits are submitted to


9. Represent company at trade association meetings.

10. Adhere to hotel grooming standards.

11. Perform any additional tasks requested by management.


Education: Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, marketing, business or related field from a four-year college or university or high school diploma or GED plus 2 years sales related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the above skills, knowledge and ability.

Experience: Familiarity with hospitality industry practices preferred.

Skills and Abilities: Effective listening, verbal, written negotiation and closing skills. Understand market dynamics and prepare presentations/proposals tailored to individual clients. Ability to meet/exceed expectations for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals and close the business.

Experience: Ability to operate a computer, phone and other office equipment.

Hours required: Scheduled days and time vary based on hotel needs. May be required to work weekends.
