Main Duties and responsibilities:

 

Administration

  • To prepare and update of Departmental Operations Manuals.
  • To participate in regular departmental communications meetings

Customer Service

  • To regularly monitor the Hyatt Guest Satisfaction survey report and to ensure the minimum benchmark scores are achieved, to analyse the results and to prepare and implement appropriate action plans to achieve constant improvement year on year.
  • To ensure the minimum benchmark scores of the Consumer Audit are achieved, to analyse the results of the Consumer Audit, prepare and implement appropriate action plans, and to constantly improving the results Year on Year.
  • To keep abreast of the Hotel Guest feedback, complaints, views, etc. posted on websites, print or electronic media or any other available communication channels.

Revenue Management

  • To prepare weekly and monthly rooms occupancy and average rate forecast through the use of Business Intelligence and Revenue Management applications (IDeaS software where available).
  • To provide tactical consultation on effective revenue generating processes through Reserve / Reserve inventory usage, rate control management, pricing and distribution.
  • To ensure optimal inventory controls are in place for FIT / Group and for the hotel as a whole.
  • To work closely with the Director of Rooms/Front Office Manager towards inventory control on a daily basis.
  • To conduct Weekly Yield / Revenue Meeting, suggesting the upcoming revenue management tactics and challenges.
  • To monitor and constantly adapt pricing tactics in the context of competitor strategies and market fluctuations.
  • To ensure the inventory distribution through all channels is in line with Hyatt’s distribution strategy and closely monitors business shifts between channels (Channel Management).
  • To optimize and monitor the hotels search optimization strategies (SEO) in liaison with the Director of Marketing.
  • To find and evaluate new channels of distribution in liaison with the hotel’s Director of Marketing / Sales and in-line the Hyatt’s corporate policies and guidelines.
  • To manage the 3rd party retail channels of distribution and ensure optimal presence on their sites. Liaise with 3rd party on-line vendors on a regular basis and create distinct production and market share goals.
  • Liaise with the Sales department in finding opportunities to convert traditional wholesale business to B2B and B2C on-line distribution channels.
  • Ensure existing connectivity is utilized and dynamic pricing forms the base when negotiating margins, in line with Hyatt’s corporate policies and guidelines.
  • To ensure Daily Pricing Strategies (DPS) are optimized and to review and assist in the re-designing of the pricing strategies when necessary
  • To recommend and implement the hotel’s pricing and distribution strategy for Hyatt.com, ensuring the room rate and special offers are in line with the hotels overall pricing strategy. Liaise with 

    Marketing Communications Manager in ensuring room rate and special offers information on Hyatt.com is updated.

  • To assist the Director of Marketing / Sales and the revenue departments in:
      • maximising revenue and yield through business trend analysis
      • highlighting areas of opportunity
      • ensuring delivery and maintenance of optimum data mining
      • Pricing and distribution strategies on an ongoing basis.
  • To assist the Director of Marketing / Director of Sales in the preparation for the Monthly Marketing Meeting – the forum to discuss the hotel’s future sales and marketing tactics and strategies, addressing critical issues and evaluate past strategies.
  • To monitor and provide feedback on the hotel’s effective use of Hyatt systems, tools and procedures in areas of business intelligence, revenue management, inventory management and dynamic pricing to maximise Hyatt’s competitive advantage in the marketplace.
  • To manage the re-engineering (when required) and enforcement of business processes in all areas to ensure data cleanliness and data integrity.
  • To conduct training with Front Office employees to ensure correct procedures are in place at check-in and check-out to ensure the availability and validity of data for analysis.
  • To provide the hotel’s Management Team with business intelligence based on Cognos data mining solutions and secondary resources (PMS reports).
  • To ensure the accuracy and validity of the data presented in the Cognos cubes.
  • To provide the hotel team with external market intelligence using tools such as Competitive Intelligence, Rate View, Future Pace, Omniture and Internet web sites and other corporate resources.
  • To assist the Director of Marketing / Sales and the management team to have a structured approach to tactical marketing making use of all internal and external tools available to the hotel, and providing standard analytical reporting to ensure the adopted tactics are measurable (i.e. promotion tracking).
  • To undertake in-depth business analysis, primarily of the Rooms department as well as of other revenue generating departments including Food & Beverage and Spa, making recommendations on promotional tactics in liaison with the Director of Marketing / Sales and the respective Leadership Committee member.
  • Ensure the guidelines for data collection, data input, data cleaning and data usage are being followed throughout the hotel and conduct regular training to the relevant departments.
  • To conduct regular training to Front Office, Sales and Marketing, Reservations on the definition of the marketing standard codes i.e. Purpose of Visit, Rate Markets / Segmentation etc. and their importance in marketing analysis.
  • To assist the Director of Marketing / Sales in the strategic direction of the Sales Team by assisting in identifying corporate account  (key account ) reporting and analysis, and with preparation of their personal business plan.
  • To constantly develop and update the hotel’s “optimal” customer mix that leads to the highest overall profitability and to make recommendations based on the findings.
  • To work in close collaboration with the Marketing Communication Manager to ensure the chosen marketing communications are consistent with the hotel’s targeted customer’s profile, preferences, and behaviours.
  • To offer quantitative information to Marketing Communications regarding the targeted market’s size, yield, booking, past promotion results, etc, for planning and ROI calculation.

E-Commerce

  • Monitor and help optimize online strategies (SEO, PPC and email campaigns) through effective use of external marketing intelligence and internal reporting such as Omniture, Search View, Travelclick marketing portal and Cognos.
  • Co-ordinate with Marcomm manager for marketing text for all special promotions that will be loaded on Salesforce.com
  • For promotions on e-platform, offer Quantative information to MCM regarding the targeted market, yield, past booking trends etc for planning and ROI calculation.
  • Integrate performance reports on e-commerce in revenue meetings on monthly basis for opportunities & discussions.
  • Provide analytical support for preparation of E-Commerce strategic plans and reviews

Financial

  • To analyse the current revenue generation trends of the hotel in order to identify potential areas for Revenue Enhancement.
  • To assist the Hotel Leadership Team in developing integrated solutions that enables the hotel to leverage increased profitability via Business Intelligence and Revenue Management practices, focusing on revenue engineering primarily for the Rooms department and also for other profit centres of the hotel such as F&B or Spa.
  • To actively participate in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan.
  • To assist in improving efficiency in cost control.
  • To assist in weekly and monthly re-forecasting as well as the 18-month rolling forecast.
  • To assist in managing costs based on key performance indicators.
  • To assist in ensuring that all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to financial record keeping, money handling and licensing are adhered to, including the timely and accurate reporting of financial information

Personnel

  • To support the implementation of The People Brand, demonstrating and reinforcing Hyatt’s Values and Culture Characteristics.
  • To adhere to and ensure that every employee in the department / division understand all the principles of Hyatt’s Global Privacy Policy and comply fully with all the obligations as per the policy.
  • Align all day-to-day functioning of the department / division consistent with Hyatt’s Global Privacy Policy.
  • To support the implementation and monitoring of the key contributors to the employee engagement survey, analyse the results, prepare and implement appropriate action plans, and to achieve consistent high level of engagement and improve on it year on year.

Training & Development

  • To support the School of Hospitality programme
  • To attend and contribute to all training sessions and meetings as required

Technical

  • To be familiar with the technical set up of the local Cognos solution, general dataflow, database structure and monthly extract procedure.
  • To be familiar with the escalation procedure in case of support issues with the local Cognos solution.
  • To be familiar with the technical set up and usages for all tools including revenue management system (where available) throughout the strategic marketing process.
  • Other Duties

  • To maintain strong, professional relationships with relevant representatives from competitor hotels and other organisations.
  • To respond to changes in the Marketing function as dictated by the industry, company and hotel.
  • To read the hotel''s Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel''s rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to fire, hygiene, health and safety.
  • Be able to multi-task and carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • To liaise closely with the Area Director of Sales & Marketing and other hotels’ Revenue Managers to ensure that corporate initiatives and philosophies are consistently applied and joint strategy is implemented when appropriate.
  • To ensure all relevant Revenue Management Material available on Hyatt Connect is understood and available to all relevant associates of the hotel.
  • To ensure the Hotel Leadership Team takes advantage of the Revenue Management Council of Experts.
  • To follow and ensure that employees follow all hotel, company and local rules, policies and regulations relating to fire and hazard safety, and security.
  • To be well versed with the Hotel safety and security procedures and be vigilant about observing and reporting anything unusual.
