 POSITION PURPOSE:

Facilitates food service by performing the following duties. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (include the following. Other duties may be assigned.)

Carries dirty dishes from dining room to kitchen. 

Wipes table tops and chairs with damp cloth. Insures standard of 5 minutes is upheld. 

Replaces soiled table linens and sets tables with silverware and glassware. 

Replenishes supply of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes in dining room. 

Supplies service bar with food such as soups, salads, and desserts. 

Serves ice water and butter to patrons. 

Cleans and polishes glass shelves and doors of service bars and equipment such as coffee urns and cream and milk dispensers. 

Makes coffee and fills fruit juice dispensers. 

Sweeps and mops floors. 

Completes any opening, running, or closing side work duties assigned to him/her. 

Assists servers/hostess in serving the customer any time needed. 

Assists dishwasher any time during shift when caught up (see dishwasher job description). 

Refill water, coffee and tea as needed. 

Assist kitchen staff in the restocking of the buffet line whenever needed.Job Description Busperson Page 2 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS(cont.):


May be required to run room service orders when needed (see room service job description).

Associate will make an effort to obtain customers name and use it when making contact with customer.

Associate will become a resident expert on in-house and local information and will be of assistance to all customers when questioned on these areas.


SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10''s and 100''s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
