The EMEAA Corporate Affairs Team are searching for a versatile and experienced Europe & EMEAA Internal Communications Manager to join their team. You’ll be working alongside a fantastic team and join one of the biggest hotel companies in the world at our beautiful Head Quarters in Denham!
The Europe & EMEAA Internal Communications Manager will report directly into the Head of Communications and help lead internal communications planning and delivery for significant corporate, change management and strategic business initiatives affecting IHG’s corporate and front line hotel colleagues.
This is a hands-on role that will both develop and deliver the communications required to do the job. The Manager will have a focus on creativity and developing new and interesting ways to engage one of our most important audiences. To be successful in this role you will be acting as a strategic partner to help deliver on key projects.
Key responsibilities:
• Develop communications plans, work collaboratively with stakeholders and project manage campaigns for IHG company priorities.
• Play a lead role in supporting the Head of Communications Europe & EMEAA in developing and delivering communications for the European Leadership Team, including MD Europe
• Key role in the delivery of the full quarterly results communications for EMEAA with an emphasis on copywriting
• Support the communication of the IHG company strategy, e.g. Regional priorities for the year
• Support the development of the Europe internal communications strategy to support the business’s objectives
• Write announcements/senior leader messages
• Manage and mentor the Europe Communications Executive
What were looking for
You will have relevant media relations experience in a fast-paced environment with at least 5 years’ experience in an agency or in-house management role. Similarly, corporate or B2B public relations experience is an advantage. The ideal candidate will be passionate about internal communications and have an in-depth experience in this area, preferably in an international business - working in a franchised/complex business environment would be an advantage.
The ideal candidate will be able to think strategically, prioritise activity per business needs as well as key experience of managing budgets and proactively think of new ways to solve problems. You will be a creative individual with excellent writing skills with strategic know-how. You will demonstrate an ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks in a demanding, fast-paced work environment
You will have the ability to influence at all levels, characterised through strong relationship building skills. Similarly, you will have experience of working within, or representing, a complex business with a range of stakeholders with different needs and interfacing with senior people. You will understand the importance of collaborating across teams and markets yet have a strong initiative to think and act independently.
The successful candidate will have excellent written (story telling) and editing skills, as well as experience of engaging frontline employee communications, and the technical knowledge and creative spark to communicate effectively through new channels
Qualifications –
• University degree (or equivalent relevant work experience)
• Languages would be an advantage but not essential
