Based in Corporate Head Quarters in Denham (UB9 5HR)

The Global Corporate Affairs Team are searching for a pro-active Global Public Affairs Executive to join their team. You’ll be working alongside a fantastic team and join one of the biggest hotel companies in the world at our beautiful Head Quarters in Denham!

The role:

This role is predominantly focused on supporting the Global Public Affairs Director to carry out global public affairs activities and campaigns that can affect IHG’s corporate reputation as well as its commercial exposure to political risk. The role supports a range of business functions and internal stakeholders, including the Chief Executive and Chairman’s engagements at global and regional meetings and associations.


You will represent IHG to external stakeholders at cross-industry meetings, seminars and conferences as required, and deputising for the Director of Public Affairs as appropriate. As well as Coordinate support for IHG leaders’ international visits and activities, including schedules, briefings.




Key responsibilities:
• Support the Director of Public Affairs on UK and European Public Affairs strategy development.
• With the Director of Global Public Affairs, develop IHG’s UK and EU public affairs campaigns, and deliver them in coordination with senior representations in the business and corporate functions, and by using and managing external groups and consultants.
• Draft briefing documents, letters, public consultation responses, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
• Manage UK and EU grassroots engagement activities, including leading on supporting materials (infographics) and liaising directly with IHG’s public affairs agency
• Assist with the delivery of IHG’s participation in the World Economic Forum and other association events.
• Proactively monitor developments in policy areas relevant tor IHG and identify creative opportunities for political engagement




What we’re looking for:

You will have strong evidence of work experience in a public affairs / agency policy environment. Alongside this, you will have the ability to influence at all levels, characterised through strong relationship building skills. As well as the Ability to collaborate with all levels of the organisation effectively and respectively.

The successful candidate should have excellent writing and editing skills, creativity, a background in monitoring and understanding policy development, and the ability to work flexibly to meet project deadlines. Corporate, government or public affairs agency experience is a significant advantage. Similarly, you will be proficient with intermediate PowerPoint and Excel skills.

You will be a proactive individual with the ability to work to tight deadlines and juggle multiple projects.
