Job Summary


Team leader providing the highest level of technical expertise and guidance for the development of the enterprise’s application and data architecture plans and the integration of corporate and business architectures.  Design and develop innovative and effective system solutions for the most diverse and most complex business problems.  Accomplish goals and objectives with both a hands on approach and through subordinate team members.  Resource planning and allocation to development initiatives. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Act as a principal leader in the design of major corporate system’s architecture including applications, data, infrastructure and capacity planning.


Provide integrated system planning and recommend new or different technologies which will enhance current systems and support overall corporate and business goals.


Research and evaluate emerging, new and/or alternative solutions and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.


Champion design solutions and derived value to senior management for adoption and to secure funding


Based on broad objectives from senior management, provide design solutions to highly complex technical issues where the approach may not be well defined. Identify, define and analyze complex problems and provide solutions requiring a high level of ingenuity and innovativeness.


Ensure cross-functional applications/systems/platforms of responsibility are recoverable in the event of a disaster, emergency or testing sequence. Maintain DR consistency within IT and ensure adherence to corporate DR plans.


Consult and advise Sr. management and/or the customer on technical aspects of major programs to meet long-term goals.


Assign development resources to projects and manage resource demand workload within development team.


Provide resource and labor estimates to direct manager and project managers.


Provide technical direction & design review to team members.


Coach and develop team members; hire, fire, access, discipline, document performance, recommend salary and classification changes.  Act as an advisor to subordinates.


Decision making responsibilities


This position has impact on the development and implementation of contingencies regarding critical system recovery during crisis situations.


Reviews, recommends and approves hardware, software and other technology solutions and creates strategies for implementation and deployment


Erroneous decisions or recommendations could result in critical delays and/or modification to projects or operations causing a substantial expenditure of time, human resources and/or funds (i.e. system outages, migrations, equipment monitoring).


 

What we need from you

Education


Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 


Experience


10 year’s progressive technical architecture and design experience in a multiple operating system, hardware and application platform as well as 5 years of resource allocations to projects on significant and highly complex projects.


Technical Skills and Knowledge


Advanced knowledge of design and implementation of enterprise workflow applications and intranet/internet/extranet architecture.


Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phase of systems architectural design using state of the art rules based architecture, object oriented component analysis and development (OOA, OOD, UML) and proficiency in JAVA, J2EE and related web technologies.


Demonstrated senior level knowledge of Javascript frameworks.


Senior level knowledge of the application development life cycle.


Broad knowledge of Company policies, products, markets, processes, technical platforms and major applications as well as an understanding of business principles and practices.


Demonstrated technical experience in supporting corporate strategies through the development of cross-functional solutions from a technical and financial viewpoint.


Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to take highly technical information and present to all levels of management, technical staffs and business/professional contacts. Strong consulting and interpersonal skills.


Demonstrated skills in advanced diagnostics and problem solving methodologies.


Specialized Technical Skills: (advanced technical and development experience in one or more disciplines required)


Web architecture, Progressive Web Applications


Angular, ReactJs


Automation testing, continuous integration continuous deployment techniques


API management


5-25 % travel required.  Position may require on call availability and carries a pager/cell phone.
