Monitors and patrols assigned areas to provide a safe environment for guests and employees and to minimize opportunities for loss or damage in accordance with hotel standards and established InterContinental policies and procedures. Acts to deter any agent or element from jeopardizing persons or property in or about the hotel’s facilities.

LANGUAGE SKILLS To perform the job successfully, an individual will demonstrate proficient use of the English language as defined here. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs and diagrams. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Saflok, TouchData Database software and Microsoft Word word processing software. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS 1) California Guard Card is desirable. 2) Certification in alcohol awareness program desirable. 3) Valid certification in C.P.R. and first aid desirable. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS 1) Prior guest relations training is desirable 2) Additional language skills are desirable. 3) Knowledge of local laws, investigative methods, report writing and fire safety.
