About the Job:

 

An opportunity has arisen for an Administrative Assistant & Receptionist to join the Lodging department in The Emirates Academy of Hospitality Management.  The main duties and responsibilities of this role are:

  • Registering guests staying at EAHM Lodging and manage their check in and out
  • Dealing with all internal and external customers according to the Jumeirah Hallmarks and Guiding Principles
  • Carrying out cashiering duties for lodging guests and resident students
  • Setting up amenities in the lodging studios for arriving guests and new students, and checking studios before guest arrival
  • Ensures that the Reception desk is covered at all times
  • To be fully conversant with EAHM's services and facilities and its departments
  • Ensures that inquiries and requests are addressed according to EAHM standards
  • Ensures that the reception desk, reception foyer and the auditorium ante-room are clean and tidy at all times
  • Ensures that the reception desk display of brochures is regularly maintained and business cards and/or messages left by visitors are passed on to the relevant member of staff or department
  • Answers and transfers telephone calls in accordance to the Jumeirah Standards
  • Manages incoming and outgoing mail
  • Performing other related duties and special projects as assigned by the Management from time to time

About you:

 

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications: 

  • Approachable, good inter-personal and relationship building skills, good communicator to both internal and external clients
  • O levels or equivalent (Grade 12)
  • Experience in Hospitality or Customer Service environment
  • English on a written and conversational level
  • Attention to detail, able to work under stress, able to handle difficult situations
  • Able to work in a team and able to build upon strengths and challenges
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Opera or Fidelio would be desirable
