Direct the timely and effective response to any technical / engineering issue that may arise at the facility under management, providing guidance for the resolution of all issues in order to enable their effective operation.

Develop and ensure the implementation of a comprehensive preventive maintenance plan for all infrastructure of the assigned property, e.g. mechanical, electrical, plumbing HVAC, within the property, to maintain a high level of operational efficiency and availability of all equipment to SBU employees and customers.

Ensure the regular inspection of the building and infrastructure, e.g. mechanical, electrical, HVAC, etc., in order to identify conditions that may lead to its defective operation or risk the health and safety of tenants and employees and guide the execution of all the required activities to enable the effective operation of the SBU.

Monitor the utility consumption and the energy efficiency of all equipment and the wastage generated from the infrastructure operation and proceed to the introduction of energy consumption improvements and effective wastage management through the effective management of the Building Management System (BMS) or suggesting replacement or modification of energy inefficient equipment, to enable the optimum energy usage and the improvement of the environmental profile of Jumeirah.

Propose the implementation of facility improvement projects, taking into consideration input provided from Operations and good practices while provide all the required support for the accurate execution of the projects.

Assess the potential vendors required for the execution of large scale facility management projects and participate in the selection of the most suitable that meet the technical requirements and budget.

Follow-up and evaluate the execution of all planned and ad-hoc facility maintenance conducted by internal resources or subcontractors, in order to ensure that work is delivered according to schedule, standards and budget.

Direct and monitor periodic checks and inspections of completed repair, maintenance and construction work to ensure that it is established according to Jumeirah standards and report any deficiencies.

Monitor the effective management of the engineering warehouse and ensure the availability of all the material, spare parts and consumables that are necessary for the day-day operation of the facility.

Direct and ensure that all Fire, Life and Safety requirements are met and mandatory third party certifications are up to date and recorded, to ensure its compliance with Jumeirah standards and audit requirements.

Ensure that all activities of the department are documented on the engineering management system used by Jumeirah, e.g. JEMS that will enable the follow-up, monitoring and archiving of all activities and support the effective operation of all facility management operation.

Contribute to the preparation of the department budget and monitor the financial performance of Engineering (SBUs) versus the budget so that areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalised upon.

Supervise the day to day operations of Engineering & Maintenance services within the property; providing guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and liaise with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of operations.

Understand government regulations affecting the property operations, to ensure that the property is operating in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and requirements of any federal, state or municipal authority.
