About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced hotel Finance professional to join the pre-opening team at Jumeirah Bali Hotel as Director of Finance.
The Director of Finance will be responsible for leading all the required preopening activities ranging from recruitment and training of the finance team, setting up the finance department, managing, coordinating and reporting on the effective use of the preopening budget, full participation in the implementation of the hotel front and back of house systems as well as ensuring full compliance to Indonesian regulatory requirements, to Jumeirah directives and to the terms of the management agreement.
During the trading phase, responsibility will also include preparation and execution of the hotel operating budget, financial reporting in line with Jumeirah requirements and local statutory regulations.
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Prepare the opening of the hotel in line with Jumeirah preopening pathway and deliverables
  • Work closely with the relevant Jumeirah stakeholders to ensure that all front and back of house systems are properly implemented and integrated
  • Implement relevant finance SOPs in line with Jumeirah directives and in accordance
  • Manage, monitor and report on the effective use of the preopening funds as per timelines agreed with Jumeirah and Ownership
  • Ensure compliance to local statutory and tax requirements
  • Recruit, onboard and train and supervise the finance team in the performance of their duties
  • On an ongoing basis, provide constant coaching, counselling and discipline to colleagues to ensure their capability to meet the needs of the customer and the organization.
  • Active engagement and communication with the Owners
  • Work with the hotel leadership team to formulate and implement the annual budget and cash flow projections for the entity
  • Prepare and complete all monthly financial reporting and analysis
  • Maintain the hotel’s balance sheet in line with Jumeirah requirements and guidelines
  • Ensure all capital purchases and disposals are in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Ensure customer requirements are determined & met and actively promote an awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
  • Establish in line with the delegation of authority matrix the responsibilities and authorities at hotel level. Ensure proper communication within the organization.
About You
  • You will have a recognized degree in Finance and Accounting
  • You will have demonstrable experience as a Financial Controller / Director of Finance in Indonesia, preferably Bali, in a five star environment
  • Experience in hotel pre-opepnings
  • In depth knowledge of Indonesian legislation and tax requirements is a must
  • Knowledge of Sun Accounting Software, Hyperion, Opera and Materials Control / Adacco, Hyperion highly desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Fluent in English and Bahasa Indonesia
