About the Role:

An opportunity has arisen for a Financial Controller to join Dubai Shared Services in Jumeirah Group. The main duties and responsibilities of this role:

 
  • Oversee the cost accounting process and make sure that all costs incurred by the SBUs are collected, classified, and recorded properly in order to ensure the analysis of cost structures and the recommendation of areas of improvement to optimize SBU expectations.

  • Manage the General Ledger accounting process, through cross-referencing and quality assurance of general ledger entries, in order to ensure that the general ledger represents a complete record of all the financial transactions of the SBUs and that it is compliant with the relevant reporting requirements.

  • Oversee the preparation of the SSC’s legal financial filings, research and document any technical accounting issues and assist with the monthly financial statement close process in order to ensure all necessary legal and financial requirements are delivered as per Service Level Agreement (SLA).

  • Review intercompany and intra-company accounting processes, in order to ensure that the right charges are allocated to the right accounts and that the process is compliant with corporate policies.

  • Manage the monthly reporting of the general ledger for the completeness, accuracy, timeliness and consistency in accordance with the SLA.

  • Ensure that processes, operations, systems, databases and information security are up to date and comply with proper accounting and legal principles, policies and procedures.

  • Serve as a liaison with Corporate Finance and implement the corporate financial reporting policy in order to ensure that all financial reports are submitted as per the set timelines and standards, allowing Corporate Finance to have a global view of financial performance.

  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during their annual audits in order to provide any supporting information required and ensure that audit requirements are met.

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of both the P2P and A2R Team providing guidance, encouraging teamwork and facilitating related professional work processes in order to achieve high performance standards and liaise with internal and external parties at the appropriate levels to ensure smooth flow of operations.

  • Ensure compliance to all relevant Health, Safety and Environment management procedures and controls within a defined area of activity so that Jumeirah Group provides world class and luxurious hospitality services to its guests.

  • Motivate the JSS Finance Team and contribute to the identification of opportunities for participating in change initiatives, programmes and projects taking into account best practices, improvement of processes and productivity improvement

 

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent from an accredited and renowned University

  • CPA, ACCA or equivalent accreditation
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in finance, preferably with an international luxury hospitality company or a recognized blue-chip organization

  • Strong knowledge of accounting processes and policies, internal control and reporting standards

  • Good understanding of core hotelier operations and the luxury hospitality industry

  • Strong accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skill
