An exciting role has arisen for a highly talented and experienced Health and Safety expert  to join Madinat Jumeirah' Health and Safety team. The main purpose of this position is to be the single point of contact and technical lead for Occupational Health and Safety, Food Safety and HACCP, FLS asset assurance and environmental management at the SBU.
 
About the Role:
 
Main Duties
 
Manage the overall operations and administration of the department and the implementation of the Jumeirah Group HSE Management System.
 
Prepare & produce reports & records as required & as directed, coordinate with SBU HSE Representatives, ensure high standards of HSE performance and compliance with Jumeirah Group HSE Requirements.
 
 
Operational:
  • Developing & implementing the (insert SBU), Health & Safety and Environment Management System, producing appropriate reports for the Senior Management. (Including Corporate Management)
  •  Providing & implement HSE Policy, Procedures & Guidelines for (insert SBU)
  • Monitor and assess performance and compliance to Jumeirah HSE MS, produce appropriate reports for the business
  • Conduct HSE auditing of the Complex as per the site HSE audit plan
  • Review & present “Jumeirah HSE Report and Dashboard” for the (insert SBU), and arrange monthly HSE representatives meeting
  • Handle issues with external contractors and assist engineering in the sign off of the pre-qualification of contractors in terms of HSE method statements and risk assessments
  • Make requests for service as required in respect of contractors providing services for consultancy, e.g. third party auditing, laboratory analysis
  • Prepare documents and process for Tender program for external contractors related to HSE issue.
Administration:
  • Handle administrates activities & inquiries to the (insert SBU) HSE Department
  • Maintain accurate and secure HSE related record.  Ensure adequate filling system for the department and manage local (insert SBU) HSE Team site
  • Coordinate the training and development program for (insert SBU)  HSE colleagues
  • Coordinate with external HSE Regulators and other external stakeholders as required
  • Communicate new or amended procedures to relevant departments/colleagues in a timely manner
  • Schedule and arrange to purchase approved Capex items, budgeted items, including equipment in line with the HSE local budget
Incident Investigation
  • Be the technical lead of HSE investigations in respect of incidents and issues.  Working alongside the Security team and other first responders.  Provide thorough technical report following significant incident as directed by the General manager and G&C Director of Compliance and HSE.
Food and Environmental Sampling
  • Preparation of food sampling plan, coordination with contracted laboratory, monitoring of results and verification of corrective actions if any unsatisfactory result obtained.
 
 
About you:
 
To be considered for this role, you should have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in HSE field, preferably in hospitality sector and have a good knowledge of local and international legislation, standards and best practices.
 
Qualifications:
  • This role requires a breadth of qualification and/ or experience across the Occupational Safety, Food Safety and environmental management disciplines.  Such experience is desirable, however investment into the candidates training will be made to bridge gaps in qualification
  • First Degree in Environmental/ Public Health or relevant academic subject
  • Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health. Desirable – Certificated of IOSH or NEBOSH or equivalent
  • HACCP Level 4 certification
  • HACCP Internal Audit certification
