About the Job:

 

An opportunity has arisen for an Operations Assistant to join the Accommodation & Student Services department in EAHM.  The main duties and responsibilities of this role are: 

  • Assists in the planning, set up and execution of events according to function sheets and verbal instructions
  • Prepares the 'mise en place' for the day to day events
  • Ensures a high level of cleanliness in all areas of the Academy (class rooms, walk ways, storage-and preparation areas) and Student Accommodation
  • Providing assistance to all internal and external clients to ensure a smooth and successful event or seminar
  • Ensures that Academy classrooms are set up according to the time table and function sheet so that lectures and meetings will run smoothly
  • Handles and cleans operating equipment with care and avoids breakages
  • Performs all administrative work pertaining to his area of operations and communicates all information to the Operations Coordinator or Operations Manager
  • Ensures all health and safety standards are adhered to, and is familiar with all procedures related to fire prevention and emergency evacuation
  • Completes and corrects set ups where needed according to the daily check list
  • Liaises with kitchen stewards to ensure a high standard of cleanliness and the maintenance of operating equipment
  • Supports reception staff and answers telephone calls appropriately in accordance to the Jumeirah standards

About you:

 

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Approachable, good inter-personal and relationship building skills, good communicator (internal and external clients)
  • O levels or equivalent (Grade 12)
  • Hospitality experience (F&B, events or similar)
  • Customer service background
  • Background in Front Office operations would be desirable
  • English on a written and conversational level
  • Attention to detail, able to work under stress, able to handle difficult situations
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Opera would be desirable
