Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel and Spa offers easy access to Kuwait’s Central Business District, airport and major attractions. The beachfront resort features 316 rooms and suites, 80 residential suites and 12 villas, seven restaurants, cafés and lounges, a Talise Spa, 200-metre private beach, two swimming pools and a children’s play area. Extensive conference and banqueting facilities are available, including the Badriah ballroom.

 

About the Job:

 

An opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader – Telephone operator to join Front Office department in Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa Kuwait.

 

  • To assist the Front Office Management Team in supervising the Service One operation and communication

  • To assist in maintaining and/or developing agreed operating procedures relating to Service One and to ensure that colleagues adhere to the correct procedures as laid down in the Standard Operating Procedures Manuals

  • To set a high example to colleagues in terms of punctuality, appearance, performance, attitude, leadership, guest relations, observance of the house rules, loyalty to the management and interdepartmental co-operation

  • Ensure that all current promotional and or activity information is communicated to the team

  • Take care of sectional training and ensure that the required training hours are achieved.

  • Conduct the hand over between shifts, ensuring that all relevant staff is in attendance and that all pertinent information is passed accurately to the oncoming shift.

  • To have a high product knowledge level, both in terms of the hotel and its facilities as well as of Kuwait in general

  • To action and resolve all traces on a daily basis.

  • Ensure that all daily tasks of operators are carried out on time

  • Prepare weekly store order and make sure collection is done

  • To manage HOTSOS operation on daily basis, to ensure that it is utilized and used properly

  • To schedule the service one accordingly based on business requirements

  • Ensure that all enquiries that come to Service One /HOTSOS are handled politely, efficiently and followed up in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that white boards are updated daily (i.e. Duty Manager, Functions, VIP’s etc.)

  • Update regularly the Opera Phone book.

  • Update guest profile according to HOTSOS reports.

  • Ensure that all equipment are in working order at all times, report any faults and follow up on necessary work to be carried out.

  • Communicate closely with Guest Services to ensure that any special requests are taken care of efficiently (DND, Incognito, etc.)

  • Ensure that all wake up calls are set correctly and punctually and that any failures are followed up.

  • Be aware of daily functions and the hotel fire, safety and emergency procedures.

  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly HOTSOS reports and results.

  • Inform any guest complaints immediately to the Duty Manager.

  • Assist in generating revenue by using up selling techniques.

  • Ensure fast and efficient transferring of internal calls to the correct department or guest.

  • Ensure a high level of product knowledge of the hotel and local area

  • To answer all internal calls within 3 rings

About you:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 year experience working in a similar role in five star hotel environment.
  • Good knowledge in OPERA (PMS) is essential.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Outgoing personality with ability to communicate with guests and colleagues
  • Excellent English communication skills
  • Additional language is an added value.

Currently in its soft opening phase, the secluded beachfront resort features 316 rooms and suites, 80 residential suites and 12 villas, six restaurants along with cafes and lounges, a 3 500 m2 ‘Talise Spa’, a 200-metres private beach, two swimming pools and a children’s play area. Additionally, extensive conference and banqueting facilities will be available, including a showpiece 1 950 m2 ballroom.
