Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel and Spa offers easy access to Kuwait’s Central Business District, airport and major attractions. The beachfront resort features 316 rooms and suites, 80 residential suites and 12 villas, seven restaurants, cafés and lounges, a Talise Spa, 200-metre private beach, two swimming pools and a children’s play area. Extensive conference and banqueting facilities are available, including the Badriah ballroom.
 
About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and experienced Public Relations and Communications professional to join the Sales & Marketing team at Jumeirah Messilah Beach Hotel & Spa, Kuwait. The main purpose of this position is to manage the reputation of the hotel and build an aligned brand presence by developing a communications strategy and executing  various PR and communication activities.
 
Your key responsibilities will include:
  • Develop and execute an annual communication plan that supports the hotel’s goals
  • Ensure collateral and key external and internal messages are communicated in a style and of a standard that builds and maintains a positive image for the hotel and supports Jumeirah being a preferred employer
  • Identify and build productive relationships with key media partners, influential professionals and other stakeholders in order to keep stakeholders informed about the hotel’s products and services
  • Write and distribute press releases and plan and conduct press conferences and other press activities to maximize positive publicity opportunities and counteract bad publicity
  • Coordinate hotel sponsored events and community relations activities in order to support Jumeirah’s commitment to corporate social responsibilities
  • Participate as an active member of the community through associations, memberships and trade organizations in order to develop and maintain new and existing networks
  • Arrange public appearances, exhibitions and other related activities that enhance the profile of the hotel
  • Monitor media coverage, conduct market research and engage with  external and internal key stakeholders to determine trends, expectations  and concerns in order to continually improve PR and communication activities
  • Manage the PR and communications aspects of a crisis situation in order to minimize bad publicity and support continuity of business
  • Coach the Management and other spokespersons in effective communication techniques prior to media conferences or interviews to ensure the hotel is represented in a positive and professional manner
  • Maximize brand presence through various channels i.e. TV, Website, Social Media, etc...
  • Organize PR events to increase awareness of the hotel
  • Perform any other duties that management may reasonably require
About You:
 
In order to be considered for this role, you will have a university degree in Journalism, Communications, English, Hospitality, Business, or related field, and at least 8 years of PR & Communications experience, preferably with a multinational company in Kuwait. Also, a suitable candidate will have proven track record in press release and editorial writing, editing and proofreading.
 
Excellent written and verbal English and Arabic skills, as well as excellent business and creative writing skills, public speaking  and facilitation skills are required. Knowledge of Kuwait market and hotel operations are desirable.

Currently in its soft opening phase, the secluded beachfront resort features 316 rooms and suites, 80 residential suites and 12 villas, six restaurants along with cafes and lounges, a 3 500 m2 ‘Talise Spa’, a 200-metres private beach, two swimming pools and a children’s play area. Additionally, extensive conference and banqueting facilities will be available, including a showpiece 1 950 m2 ballroom.
