Based in the Maldives, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and motivated Kids Club & Recreation Attendant (Chinese-speaking) to join our Kids Club & Recreation team.

Purpose:
• To ensure that the daily services and operation of the kids/Teen Club is maintained at the highest standards at all time;
• To ensure that all step by step (SBS’s) are followed accordingly. Any variations to be reported to the Team Leader/Manager;
• Must demonstrate a commitment to provide a quality service based on the principle of treating all children equally and as individuals. Emphasis should be placed on forming good relationships with parents/tutors and all of those who take part in the development and welfare of the child;
• If required to provide support to other departments when needed by the approval of Supervisor/Manager.
• To assist the Kids Club Assistant Manager/ Assistant Manager in all daily operations.

Main Responsibilities:
• Ensures that the Kid’s Club delivers a safe and positive children experience;
• He/ She is knowledgeable about the facilities and services provided by Jumeirah Vittaveli and other Jumeirah hotel & Resorts;
• Contribute to run a clean, friendly and well maintained Kids Club providing a safe, fun and interactive environment to children using the Kids Club and conducting all activities in a positive and professional manner;
• Supervise all Kids Club team members in daily operations;
• Follow all Kid’s Club Rules and Regulations;
• Supervise activities of all assigned children in the Kid’s Club area while participating and entertaining children with games or other approved activities and ensures children remains in designated area;
• Provide child care to children including paging parent/guardian if necessary to assist with discipline issues and attending to personal needs (i.e., diaper changing);
• Administer first aid to children in accordance with company policy;
• Assist the parents during the registration of the children at the Kids Club, take note and share with colleagues any special need of the child;
• Offers guest Kids Club orientation during the children registration and reports any problems to Kids Club Team Leader/ Manger or relevant departments; give clear information to the guests about the charges of the babysitting service and chargeable activities;
• Deliver a signed copy of the bills to Lifestyle Concierge as soon as the activity finishes for posting purposes and file a posted copy in the correct folder;
• Give the meal orders to IVD as per guests request (always check with parents) and get the bills signed by guests;
• Register any equipment or game given for rent to the villas and follow up with guests and Lifestyle hosts;
• Reports to shift on time, dressed in the issued uniform, and well groomed according to Jumeirah standards;
• Attends Departmental Meetings;
• Answers all the phone calls and emails as per Jumeirah Standard;
• Represents, promotes and up sells Jumeirah Vittaveli Maldives at all times;
• Ensures that all maintenance requests are dealt with in a timely and professional manner in order to keep a well kept and safe environment;
• Maintains inter department relations and communication to achieve synergy within the department and the resort;
• Guest requests are attended to in timely manner;
• Report any guest’s related incident to Kids Club Assistant Manager and relevant departments;
• Actively obtains guests feedbacks and place the information in the provided communication tools;
• Ensures that all information flyers and files are kept up to date;
• Ensures that all SBS’s are followed at any point of time;
• Looks after guests who need special attention with utmost care, accuracy, tolerance and anticipates guest’s needs;
• Ensures he/she is discreet about guests and does not discuss any guest issues in Public;
• To use discretion and tact when dealing with the guest enquiries, problems and complaints in an efficient and professional manner without detriment to the hotel and/ or its reputation.
• To oversee administration and ensure all administration is correctly done.
Operational
• He/She must be completely familiar with the operational environment and must follow the detailed instructions given to him/her by the Supervisor/Manager at all times when working;
• Meet & greet guests every time they enter the Kids Club;
• To represent the Front of House Department;
• To run operations in absence of Assistant Manager.

Kids Club:
• Ensure all Kids Club team members are assigned to certain areas and supervise daily activities program;
• Ensure parents will fill the registration form and understand the Kids Club rules and regulations;
• Report any incidents to Kids Club Assistant Manager, Operations Manager, Resident Manager and Security;
• Report all guests complaints to Kids Club Assistant Leader and Operations Manager;
• Report any child health concerns to Kids Club Assistant Manager, Operations Manager and Resort Doctor;
• Responsible for general cleaning duties in Kids Club including disinfecting toys;
• Ensure the parents’ requirements will be followed at all times;
• During the babysitting service ensure that the child will be taken care following the parents’ requests;
• Participate and entertain children following the activities calendar;
• Ensure children below 3 years old will be always under the direct supervision of a parent or a guardian or the babysitter in charge;
• Ensure children between 3 and 11 years old will not be kept unattended in any area of the kids club and they will not leave alone unless authorized by parents;
• Feed children following their needs and the parents requests;
• Take care and store the children personal belongings properly;
• Ensure to use the baby talkie in case of child sleeping in the sleeping room;
• Ensure at least one attendant will be in the swimming pool area during pool activities;
• Keep the outdoor area clean, tidy and with all equipment for table tennis, table soccer and billiard available and in good conditions;
• Make sure that all the areas (floors, carpets, windows, swimming pool area and garden) are always clean and no harmful objects are around;
• Make sure that beach towels will be available at all times;
• Make sure that all the crafts equipment will be available, clean and in good conditions;
• Search and implement new activities.

Financial
• To be conscious and responsible regarding energy and water conservation;
• Reports incidents of breakages, equipment repair and maintenance to Department Head;
• Play with and assist children during activities making sure not to have unnecessary wastefulness;
• Suggests ideas on cost saving and assists in implementing cost saving ideas.

Administrational:
• To post all the bills through the Lifestyle Concierge as soon as the activity finishes and to file all the forms in the proper folders;
• To fill the opening/closing check list for the opening and closing of the kids club;
• To make sure that all the parents will read, fill in all parts and sign the Registration Form;
• To register in the activities registration form all the children who want to participate to the pre bookable and chargeable activities;
• To make the parents sign the Best Dives Liability release form for any water sport activity conducted in cooperation with Kids Club;
• To make the parents check in and out their children with the proper form;
• To fill the feedback form and send it to Lifestyle Concierge on a daily basis;
• To register all the children meals orders accordingly;
• To register and follow up all the items given for free use to the villas.
• To ensure all above tasks are efficiently and correctly executed by all
Kids Club team members

Others:

• Be aware of the Resort’s fire and emergency procedure;
• To assist with training if and when required.

• Completed Secondary School Education

Requirements

• Previous Hotel Experience (through studies or work experience) in a 5 star hotels desirable
• Computer Knowledge, i.e. basic experience with windows, internet explorer and word essential
• Previous Kids Club Experience is essential
Child care experience, arts and sports background will be an added advantage.
