Part of Marriott's Autograph Collection this amazing hotel offers five food and beverage outlets, two outdoor pools and a lazy river, a spa and health club, Luna & Nova Kids & Teens Club as well as meeting and event facilities. The hotel's name was inspired by the pre-historic Pacific Ocean people and their journey and settlement into the Islands ( the Lapita movement ). The design draws its inspiration from the exotic Polynesian tropical landscapes, featuring Polynesian flowers, lagoon-style pools, and themed activities.


 
JOB SUMMARY 
 

The Banquet Supervisor oversees all aspects of a banquet or event, including set-up, food presentation, serving, billing and cleanup while focusing on detail and quality presentation and customer service. Banquet supervisors are also responsible for training and coaching of the banquet associates based on standards and policy and procedures of Marriott Company.

Essential Functions
  •  Responsible for consistently implementing the service standards and operating procedures in the banquet and catering service.
  • Inspect all rooms prior to the function to ensure they are set according to the BEO and special guests’ requests.

  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of all banquet supplies.

  • Responsible for ensuring sufficient operating guest supplies, beverage supplies and operating equipment for functions assigned.

  • Supervise all aspects of food and beverage quality, service and hygiene and escalate concerns to Line Manager.

  • Assist in the preparation of sales-related documents throughout the sales process (e.g., proposals, contracts, or banquet event orders). Promote awareness of brand image internally and externally.

  • Use sales techniques that maximize revenue while maintaining existing guest loyalty to Marriott.

  • Train, maintain and enforce all Marriott service standards using use records, menus and appropriate reference materials.

  • Properly execute revenue and check control procedures on shift.

  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all associates and guests.

  • Provide floor coverage during all events.
  • Attend and conduct meetings as required.
  • Ensure all side work are done on a daily basis.
  • Manage an effective repair and maintenance program with work orders, inspections, etc.

  • Assist other department’s operations when necessary.
  • Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

All Uniformed Associates are provided with a Marriott Uniform.

 

All associates are expected to wear the correct uniform, Marriott Basic Card and their name badge at all times. You are required to maintain high standards of personal hygiene, ensuring that you are always clean and well turned out during your working hours.
