Leonardo Royal Hotel Amsterdam is opening its doors for the public in April 2019. The 4**** superior hotel is located directly at the metro station Overamstel. With 18 storeys, the hotel has 490 rooms with a fresh, innovative design and high-quality equipment. For events our 11 meeting rooms, including ballroom, are available on over 1200 sqm. Restaurant “Vitruv” takes care of your well-being with exquisite dishes. Our harmonious colour, music, light and fragrance concept makes staying at a Leonardo Royal Hotel an experience for all the senses. But all of this would be nothing without our team of conversation starters. With your excellent eye for guests, it is your personality and service that will make our guests say “Now we’re talking!”.

We are looking for a BANQUETING OPERATIONS MANAGER

Your Responsibilities:
- Review all written communication, resumes, daily/weekly, Banquet Event Orders to determine efficient and effective staffing levels, room/station assignments, buffet décor and en-hancements as they relate to banquets and meeting room set-ups.
- Communicate all changes within the banqueting department and makes adjustments according to the above items, via daily morning briefings and sheetmeetings.
- Communicate all activities, in person and by log to the other banquet associates to ensure smooth transition and follow-up from one shift to another.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of all policies, procedures, health-, safety-, and quality standards within the department, utilizing a continuous improvement approach to ensure a safe, high quality, cost effective and customer focused operation.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of a monthly training plan to ensure a high quality presentation and level of customer service within the banquet team.
- Maintain a high level of service by constantly training and coaching all direct reports and staff, supported by the outcome of customer exit interviews.
- Give daily support and guidance to fellow banquet personnel as well as monitor job performance to ensure a successful experience by our guests.
- Manage the control of breakage/loss reduction of china, glass and silver as it relates to banquet services.
- Inspect and oversee the cleanliness and maintenance of all venues. And coordinate cleanliness and maintenance issues with Housekeeping and Engineering to ensure the highest level of product
delivery.
- In conjunction with F&B cost controller, analyze daily and monthly food and beverage cost control reports and take action to improve cost percentages.
- Responsible for monthly payroll forecasting of external helps in accordance with the yearly budget for the banquet department in collaboration with the Assistant General Manager.
- Responsible for the vacation planning of the banquet service team, in coordination with Assistant General Manager.

About you

Your profile:
- High school or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Well-versed in written and spoken Dutch & English.
- 3 to 5 years of food and beverage service background and prior hospitality experience required.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Well-developed computer skills.
- Working knowledge of types of room set-ups, capacities, relation to type of event, etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and sales-related skills.
- Exceptional organizational, supervisory skills.
- Able to prepare and analyze data and figures.
- Exceptional food and beverage knowledge and pricing.
