Job description

Duties & Responsibilities:

·Understand and implement all standard operating procedures ( SOP) and policies and procedures (P&P) of the hotel

·To perform all assigned duties with reference to approved checklists

·To have comprehensive, accurate and relevant product knowledge on the hotel and its services

·Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness.

·Content knowledge of all outlet menus and current promotions.

·Greet the guest in a friendly and courteous manner, while taking the order explain any special drinks, food dishes or promotions in an unobtrusive manner.

·Act as host to ensure the full comfort and satisfaction of guests

·Record and repeat the order to the guest to check for accuracy.

·Place the order into the relevant Kitchen Order / Beverage order.

·Ensure the order has reached the bar or the kitchen.

·Pass on correct and accurate orders to the Kitchen, follow up and ensure timely delivery to guests

·Serve the correct order to the guest along with appropriate condiments. If applicable (abide to Island, Republic or Corporate liquor laws and regulations pertaining service of alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests).

·Be aware of guests needs and replenish beverages and condiments as and when necessary, at the same time check politely about guest satisfaction.

·Market and serve upon request any dessert items or specialty coffees.

·Required to work varying schedules due to the cyclical nature of business in the resort.

·Report for duty punctually, wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times.

·Provide a courteous and professional service at all times.

·Maintain good working relationships with your colleagues, and all other associates.

·Never appear the front and back area either on or off duty unless in proper uniform.

·Complete understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s policy relating to Fire, Hygiene, Sanitation and Health & Safety.

·Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.

·Complete understanding of the hotel’s rules and adhere to the regulations.

·Carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.

·Aware of the importance of quality food & beverage served in our hotel.

·Accountable for breakages in the Restaurant or any outlet assigned to.

·Ensure proper usage of linen and other small fixtures in the Restaurant.

·Never use equipment for which it is not intended either by house rules or by custom.

·Responsible for all utensils to be available at all times cleaned and stored after use.

·Know the menus & beverages, ingredients and method of preparation.

·Conduct in such a manner so as to encourage fellow employees to do likewise.

·Ensure that set ups are always ready in time to give quick, efficient and quality service.

·Follow instructions meticulously and be cooperative and willing to learn at all times.

·Record all dishes & beverages in his/her book for future and training purposes.

·Attend every training session he/she is assigned to.

·Aware that his/her superiors will closely monitor his performance for future assignments, appraisals, reports or transfers.

·Attending and actively participating in all sectional / departmental meetings

·Attend and participate actively in staff general meetings

·Attend and fully participate in all training programs for which you have been scheduled. Training is compulsory.

·Respect and comply with Energy Saving Plan in place at the hotel


- Previous experience in similar position within a resort or other customer service based position
- Outgoing personality who fosters customer relation
- Computer literate
- Experience in working in a multicultural team
- Flexible working hours, hands on, patient, people’s person and highly service oriented
- High level of written and spoken English and chinese
- Outgoing and social personality
- Strong desire to provide memorable guest experiences by exceeding expectations
• Strong communication skills.
• Pro- active and reliable.
• Able to work alone and as part of a team.
• Knowledge of front office operation.
