Hideaway Beach resort & Spa is an exclusive luxury boutique resort situated on the privately owned uninhabited virgin island of dhonakulhi in North Maldives, Indian Ocean. Currently the resort accommodates 10 types of 100 villas. The island is a heaven of peace, tranquility and serenity. After an extensive renovation of the entire island we are proud to introduce 54 new luxurious water villas, new dining concept and additional services and facilities.

Director of Sales - Based in Resort

Job profile:

• Assist DOSM in Managing the strategic development of sales for 2 Resorts with account planning for the demand generators in the market.
• Manages the 2 property's reactive and proactive sales efforts.
• Provides customer intelligence in evaluating the market and economic trends that may lead to changes in sales strategy to meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Reviews the Strategic Alignment Review report, competitive shopping reports and uses other resources to maintain an awareness of the hotel’s market position.
• Researches competitor’s sales team strategies to identify ways to grow occupancy and RevPAR and increase market share.
• Attends sales strategy meetings to provide input on weekly and overall sales strategy.
• Evaluates and supports participation and account deployment with Sales Team Sales within the Sales Office.
• Serves as the sales contact for customers; serves as the customer advocate.
• Participates in sales calls with members of the Sales and Marketing team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
• Supports the DOSM to increase revenue and top line performance.
• Executes and supports Customer Service Standards and hotel’s Brand Standards.
• Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
• Implements a seamless turnover from sales to operations and back to sales while consistently delivering high level of service.
• Monitors the effective resolution of guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process by creating mechanisms to channel issues to property leadership and/or other appropriate stakeholders.
• Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.

About you

The right candidate will drive strategic business with all stake holders to maximize revenue. To this end will develop and manage sales plans and strategies while building on existing accounts and diversify in emerging markets.

Achievement will be measured on the sales teams' new business targets and conversion levels, sales calls, and revenue for the resort. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing and motivating their team.

The ideal candidate must hold a Hospitality / Business Management Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales & Business Development in the leisure market sector.
Responsibilities include but not limited to, conducting market analysis, developing and managing annual business plans, Budgeting and Risk Analysis to achieve company growth and targets.

Ideally, the candidate should have a proven track record as a Sales Director in Leading 5 Star International Hotels in leisure sector. Experience in International hotels such as Four Seasons, One & Only, W Hotels, Hilton, Ritz Carlton, Kempinski, St. Regis, Hyatt, Intercontinental, Shangri-La, Marriott etc. will be an advantage.

The candidate must have the following attributes:

-A leader who is highly motivated and organized with strong technical background.
-Excellent Communication Skills
-Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
-Should be energetic, self-starter who is entrepreneurial and results oriented.
-Capable to Interact with people of different cultures and trustworthy with highest standards of personal integrity.
  • Language required: English. German, French, Italian, and Spanish are a plus
