Hideaway Beach resort & Spa is an exclusive luxury boutique resort situated on the privately owned uninhabited virgin island of dhonakulhi in North Maldives, Indian Ocean. Currently the resort accommodates 10 types of 100 villas. The island is a heaven of peace, tranquility and serenity. After an extensive renovation of the entire island we are proud to introduce 54 new luxurious water villas, new dining concept and additional services and facilities.

Develop, enhance, and secure business with the travel agencies and tour operators. Maintain and develop relationships with current and potential clients to increase hotel's awareness and market share.

Survey, review, and analyze competition, market trends, customer needs and comments in order to develop new plans and programs to determine the potency of current plans.

Prepare, analyze, and review forecasts, statements, and reports to determine if the plans and programs are producing the optimal amount of revenue

Initiate preparation of computerized annual business plan and execute plans as outlined, critically examining and adjusting as deemed necessary by current market conditions.

Responsible for budgeting, forecasting and business plans for group and leisure sales.

Prepare and promote special events packages to increase sales.

Maintain sales files and direct client list data base.

Ensure accuracy for forecasting of revenues with most updated information.

Achieving and exceeding budgeted room nights and revenue goals annually.

Meet and/or exceed established goals as outlined in the Sales & Marketing Plan; ensure room nights sold, average rate and revenue budgeted for are achieved.
Set a travel schedule to pro-actively respond to key markets.

Prepare, implement and compile data for the strategic sales plan, monthly reports, annual goals, sales and marketing budget, forecasts and other reports as directed/required.

Develop sales strategies for group market segments.

Train Sales Managers and Reservations team on their job responsibilities

Interfaces and directs the Sales Team.

Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.

About you

The right candidate will drive strategic business with all stake holders to maximize revenue. To this end will develop and manage sales plans and strategies while building on existing accounts and diversify in emerging markets.
Achievement will be measured on the sales teams' new business targets and conversion levels, sales calls, and revenue for the resort. The successful candidate will also be responsible for managing and motivating their team.
The ideal candidate must hold a Hospitality / Business Management Degree with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Sales & Business Development in the leisure market sector.
Responsibilities include but not limited to, conducting market analysis, developing and managing annual business plans, Budgeting and Risk Analysis to achieve company growth and targets.

Ideally, the candidate should have a proven track record as a Sales Director in Leading 5 Star International Hotels in leisure sector. Experience in International hotels such as Four Seasons, One & Only, W Hotels, Hilton, Ritz Carlton, Kempinski, St. Regis, Hyatt, Intercontinental, Shangri-La, Marriott etc. will be an advantage.

Previous experience within a sales administration environment
Excellent people management skills, including goal setting, review, coaching, training and communication.
Sales Executive or similar experience with relevant comparable market
Solid sales & account managements skills are essential, with a strong knowledge of leisure market trends
The candidate should be able to show strong knowledge of constructing and executing sales & client action plans.
Should be excellent communication (verbal & written) skills, confident presentation ability and a second language would be an advantage.
Strong administrative and interpersonal skills
Proven record of sales achievement
  • Language required: English. German, French, Italian, and Spanish are a plus
