We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to organize the kitchen’s activities. To be successful in this role, the candidate should be able to manage the kitchen staff and guide them to deliver quality food on time. Ultimately, she/he will ensure all plates are properly cooked and served and our customers have a pleasant dining experience while maintaining complete control of the kitchen.

Modifying menus or create new ones that meet quality standards
Estimating food requirements and plan orders of ingredients according to identified shortages
Price menu items in collaboration with the Restaurant General Manager
Supervise kitchen staff’s activities
Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs
Train and manage the kitchen staff on prep work and food plating techniques
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Approve and “polish” dishes before they reach the customer
Rectify arising problems or complaints
Keep time and payroll records
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-oworkers
Keep weekly and monthly cost reports
Proven experience as Head Chef
Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently
Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
Outstanding communication and leadership skills
Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
Hands-on experience with planning menus and ordering ingredients
Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced work environment
Flexibility to work during evenings, weekends and holidays
Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
Languages required: English and Italian.
