Job Summary
 
The following are specific responsibilities and contributions critical to the successful performance of the position:
 
Responsible for maintaining operational procedures within the leisure club. Oversee the service standards at reception as well as the changing areas and plant areas.
 
To ensure that entry into The Leisure Club by members showing membership card other persons must sign in as a guest, prospective member or visitor must also fill out enquiry card; to collect the current fees as per the appropriate tariff.
 
To book assessments and programs for members, with efficiency both in person and on the telephone; to effectively administer cancellations, re-bookings and no-shows; pass on messages to all members of the team.
 
To likewise administer bookings for other facilities which may be present in the club, these may include: Personal Training
 
To input new memberships through the membership system, or to gain advice from the Membership Department.
 
Use every opportunity to interact with members, offering them advice, coaching and encouragement as much as possible.
 
To assist in show-rounds for prospective members and to take applications from them, following the appropriate procedures.
 
To receive and administer Lost Property.
 
To ensure that correct telephone procedures are always followed and that a pleasant and efficient service to members, guests and visitors is maintained as a priority. (For example, to answer the telephone within 3 rings; to stand when greeting members, smile and make eye contact).
 
To keep the Reception area clean, tidy and fresh at all times.
 
To be a positive member of a team of people in the Leisure Club.
 
To follow beginning and end of shift procedures.
 
To be familiar with the Company and Leisure Club conditions of Membership, including Rules and Regulations, Hours of Operation, Tariffs, and to ensure as far as possible that Members, Guests and Visitors comply with these.
 
To ensure that a current copy of these General Rules and Conditions of Membership are kept in Reception and available to members.
 
To be familiar with, and apply, Reception procedures particularly applying to Computer, Till and Entry/Exit Systems.
 
To liaise with other staff and undertake other tasks as required by The Leisure Club Management.
 
To liaise with other staff and undertake pool testing as per the Marriott Swimming Pool Safety Manual.
