This is a comprehensive proactive sales role for this fantastic hotel at London's Canary Wharf! We are looking for experiences Sales professionals with proactive selling experience, preferably from a hotel background. Message me if you are interested!

-Sales and Marketing:

Account Management – create sales strategy for account penetration and document strategy through Strategic Account Plans
Executes Sales Strategy to achieve goals for both hotel and MEA
Partners with Event Management and/or Operations in providing a customer experience that exceeds the customer’s expectations.
Participates in local and international travel to represent hotel & apartments at trade shows, sales missions, conferences etc.
Manages relationships with multiple contacts in assigned market accounts
Works collaboratively with off-property sales channels (e.g., Event BookingCentre, Market Sales, Global Sales Organization) to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative.
Responds to incoming business opportunities for the hotel that are outside parameters of the Event Booking Centre.
Proactively identifies, qualifies and solicits new business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals.
Develops contracts and correspondence, manages opportunity details and proactively develops customer solutions
Works independently or centrally, depending on account, to establish appropriate business transient pricing for assigned accounts
Understands the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
Closes the best opportunities for the hotel based on market conditions and hotel needs.
Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
Builds and strengthens relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc. document in account management tool.
Effectively develops relationships within community to strengthen and expand customer base for hotel and MEA sales opportunities
Utilizes Marriott Global Source for resources and information (Training Energizers, segment websites, etc.).
Leverages available eTools (eRooming Lists, eProposals, etc.).
Effectively manages and develops relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
Focuses on group and catering lead conversion through the London Sales Office.
Effectively use sales resources and administrative/support staff.
Conducts site inspections as per Marriott guidelines
Creates contracts as required.
Attends sales strategy meetings to understand strategic direction of business

Requirements

-Experience:
Previous proactive/ re-active sales experience in 4/5 star hotel
Marriott sales experience is desirable but not essential
Previous experience of the Group and Catering Segment

-Education or Certification:

Good level of English essential, workings of the Marriott sales background and brands preferred


-Skills and Knowledge:

Ability to understand and execute and support Marriott Customer Service Standards and Marriott Brand Standards
Ability to work collaboratively with hotel service team in providing exceptional customer service
Superior guest relations skills
Possesses excellent telephone sales skills
Excellent selling skills and understanding of sales processes; can effectively up sell products and services; can bring a sale to closure
Knowledge of operations and associated challenges for all brands
Knowledge of property-specific business segments (e.g. group, catering, transient, extended stay)
Knowledge of contractual agreements and legal implications
Knowledge of need time strategy as developed by Revenue Management
Strong customer development and relationship management skills
Knowledge of group, extended stay and transient business
Understands revenue management functions and account profitability
Effective decision making skills
