Job summary –
This position is responsible for managing financial systems setup and maintenance, financial reporting and ensuring acceptable levels of internal control. In addition, FIS Manager is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations and Rosewood Policies and Procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities – (Key Activities)
Oversees implementation, operation and maintenance of organization's financial systems including, but not limited to SunSystems, Opera, Blackline, Hyperion, Birchstreet, Concur, Givex, Micros and Sertifi;
Coordinates development and deployment of enhancements to existing financial systems and new applications;
Provides or coordinates necessary training to new associates on using various financial systems, develops training manuals and quick reference sheets for systems;
Performs systems maintenance tasks, collaborates with support teams to ensure reliability and performance;
Generates various reports on property operations, ensures timely submission of actuals and forecasts by properties;
Manages the global chart of accounts and any requests for changes as well as ensuring alignment with USALI reporting guidelines;
Maintains opening and closing periods, updates FX rates in all related financial systems;
Adds new properties and legal entities to financial systems ensuring consistency in naming and coding;
Creates, amends and maintains financial reports to ensure integrity of financial statements;
Other Standard Responsibilities
Assists with month end close, inclusive of, but not limited to: prepare Profit & Loss Statements, journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations;
Assists in preparation of forecasts, budgets and commentary;
Performs file maintenance activities for all accounting records as needed;
Works with property teams to ensure compliance with Hotel Management Agreements on all fees and assist in resolving discrepancies;
Assists other areas of the Accounting department as needed;
Promotes and applies teamwork skills;
Complies with corporate uniform and grooming standards.

Job Requirements: Required Skills –
Strong technical, financial and analytical acumen;
Ability to exercise sound judgment relative to problem solving matters;
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Adobe Writer;
Preferred, but not required, knowledge in: SunSystems, Oracle Hyperion, Concur, Blackline, Opera;
Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment;
Solid verbal and written communication skills;
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously with high degree of accuracy;
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality;
Impeccable organizational and time management skills;
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Qualifications –
Bachelor’s degree with some Accounting/Finance exposure, preferably in a business-related field of study
Experience –
Minimum four years of accounting experience, hospitality background favourable in a multi-entity environment
Preferred knowledge in international currencies
