The Opportunity:

Intern – Data Engineer

As a member of the Data Engineering team, you will design and build data pipelines and implement innovative analytical solutions using Scala and Spark. You will work alongside the product engineering team, evaluating new features and architecture. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, Data Platform, you will work closely with other team members like data architects and business analysts to understand what the business is trying to achieve, move data from source to target, and design optimal data models. You will be also responsible for building and maintaining the data platform. This is the perfect opportunity to build hands-on experience and learn best practices of data processing on a modern Data lake solution.

Responsibilities:

Build data processing framework and pipelines in Scala and Spark.

• Streamline the intake of the raw data into our Data lake.
• Build Enterprise data solutions using Databricks and Azure Tech stack (ADF, Azure Devops, Azure Blob...)
• Build and scale data infrastructure that powers batch and real-time data processing
• Write advanced / complex SQL with performance tuning and optimization
• Identify ways to improve data reliability, data integrity, system efficiency and quality
• Perform production support and deployment activities

The target hourly pay for this position is $23.00 - $23.00 per hour. The actual hourly pay offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the individual applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
