INTRODUCTION
We are looking to hire a hard-working and enthusiastic person who wants to learn and grow fast at Macellaio. Being a Commis Chef can bring many varied challenges and learning opportunities.
Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and ensure that all duties are completed in a timely manner. Ultimately, an outstanding Commis Chef should be able to follow all instructions and comply with food health and safety regulations.
JOB TITLE
Commis Chef
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes. Managing and training any new Commis Chef working with you. Ensuring you and your team have high standards of food hygiene and follow the rules of health and safety.
RELATIONSHIPS
Reports directly to the Head Chef.
MAIN TASKS OF JOB
• Assisting in the food preparation process
• Ensure adequacy of supplies at the cooking stations (mise en place)
• Prepare ingredients that should be frequently available (vegetables, spices etc)
• Follow the guidance of the Head Chef and Sous Chef
• Put effort in optimising the cooking process with attention to speed and quality
• Enforce strict health and hygiene standards
• Help to maintain a climate of smooth and friendly cooperation
