The Magnolia Hotel Houston has recently remodeled its public space, meeting pre-function space, Ballroom and Food & Beverage outlet. The Magnolia Houston will soon undergo a remodel of its 300 guest rooms and corridors. The Magnolia Houston is in the historic Post building in the heart of Houstons vibrant downtown.
We are seeking an accomplished, impressive Assistant Housekeeping Manager. As a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, the Magnolia prides itself on the quality and cleanliness of its guest rooms and public spaces. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is a key person in leading its staff in consistently meeting our standards.
Some duties and responsibilities of the Assistant Housekeeping Manager position include: Verifying room status throughout the day, inspecting guest rooms to get rooms ready by daily deadline. Help prepare daily boards. Supervise Housemen throughout the shifts. Help order supplies and do monthly inventories. Help train new Housekeeping department employees, including checking work quality of Room Attendants. Set a positive leadership example for the staff to follow each day, have fun while at work, and handle guest issues as they arise.

Previous Housekeeping Management or supervisory experience. Good foundation and knowledge of Housekeeping operations including training, laundry operations and cleaning products. Good organizational and multi-tasking skills. Experience with Hotel front office systems for downloading reports, change room status, and report maintenance issues. Knowledge of biohazard procedures.
Able to meet the physical requirements of the position such as lifting, bending twisting, pushing, pulling, ascend/descend stairs, lift up to 30 pounds over head and carry 20 pounds of product up to 200.
