Responsibilities

Departmental:
• Effective sales of the meeting space and group room revenue in line with MOHG standards.
• Manages events and integrates team based service to achieve a successful event.
• Coordinates and communicates verbally and in writing with the customer and hotel operations the details of the event.
• Attains and provides Post-event feedback to the customer.
• Maintains the customer relationship from the initial stage through to the post event phase to the return to sales for re-solicitation.
• Liaison between the operation and the customer throughout the event process (pre-event, event, and post-event).
• Is accountable for his/her customers’ experiences from file turnover through the post event phase until turnover back to sales.
• Makes presence known to customer during the entire event process.
• Is available to solve problems and/or suggest alternatives to previous arrangements.
• Greets customer during the event phase and hands over to operations for the execution of details.
• Effectively upsells throughout the pre-event and event phases.
• Works with hotel colleagues in solving operational challenges.
• Involved with customer site inspections.
• Can or may lead pre-event and post-event meetings for assigned groups.
• Adheres to all standards, policies, and procedures of MODUB.
• Manages meeting space blocks of assigned groups.
• Responsible for his/her customer satisfaction.
• Attends customer events along with Conference Operations Team to ensure maintenance of client relationship in line with the respective LQEs.
• Joint sales calls with Sales team to build long lasting relationships.
• Understands the hotel revenue strategy and business plan.
• Generates and maintains accounts and assigned segments through various sales activities.
• Carries out face to face sales calls, telephone calls, entertainment, site inspections.
• Implements and executes all sales objectives and action plans to reach and exceed targets set.
• Ensures all plans and activities are implemented to achieve a successful strategy.
• Builds and develops strong and productive relationships with business partners.
• Contributes to the development of company sales initiatives by recommending, implementing and monitoring appropriate local activity.
• Reviews direct competition and ensuring complete awareness of product and competition.
• Constantly monitors the market and the competition and reports on threats and opportunities.
• Attends major events in hotel & city as requested by Director of Conference and Events Sales and Director of Commercial Strategy.
• Mobilises at all opportunities to cross sell the brand worldwide.
• Ensures all requests are handled in the time frame set by the company.
• Updates all activities related to company account management in the system and adheres to MOHG standards.

Customer Focus:
• Supports customer loyalty and property’s brand standards by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
• Services our customers in order to grow share of the account.
• Builds strong relationships with customers, Guests and Team Members in order to gain full understanding of their needs and work to serve them effectively
• Sets a positive example.
• Handles guest complaints and disputes.

Colleague Relations:
• Ensures an excellent working relationship with all colleagues within the hotel.
• Effectively communicates with all other hotel departments, especially Reservations, Front Office and Banqueting Operations team.
• Utilizes all available on the job training tools for colleagues.

Administrative Duties
• Establishing and maintaining files, data base of all accounts and assisting the Director of Conference and Events Sales and Director of Commercial Strategy in maintaining the account management
• Ensures that selling strategies are adhered to during negotiations and maximizes upselling opportunities whenever possible.
• Attends weekly and monthly department meetings and prepares account performance and feedback accordingly.
• Understands the overall market, including competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand and knows how to sell against them.

Additional Duties:
• Conducts sites visits as required by hotel operation.
• Participates in Client Entertainment with Sales Department as required.
• Joint Sales calls with team as required.

Education & Certificates
• Degree or Higher National Diploma equivalent in Hospitality/Hotel/Business Management preferred.

Experience
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a hotel and/or administrative position selling in hospitality.
• Previous work experience in Conference and Events and or Sales in Executive position.
• Previous experience working in a luxury hotel environment.
• Must be excellent in using computers and well versed in all computer applications.
• Prior experience with Delphi preferred.
• Hotel pre-opening experience desirable.
