Position Summary

 

Members of the Operations Support Resources (OSR) team, specifically OSR – Program Management will be deployed to provide cross-discipline expertise to support the execution of brand, system compliance, discipline programs and Americas initiatives. Providing both virtual and property- based support, the role of the Sales Field Support Manager, OSR Program Management is to provide specifically for 

1) hotel review/market/deep dive/demand generation meetings, 

2) hotel sales associate training including sales and event discipline training, sales system training, and class facilitation, and 

3) sales analysis and reporting for stakeholders.

 

The Manager, OSR – Program Management demonstrates leadership in support of executing on deliverables for programs and initiatives in partnership with key discipline stakeholders. The Manager may also be deployed on temporary assignments of varying durations (based on specific hotel needs).

 

This job will require members of the team to travel, on occasion, however, relocation is not required. The time in position requirement will follow the standard company policies. Operations Support Resources associates are expected to demonstrate professional demeanor and behavior at all times as the associate represents the Continent Lodging Services organization of the Americas.

 

Travel: Varied and extensive, Up to 100%

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

▪ Conduct data analysis to identify markets/hotels with sales performance issues or trends so sales teams can improve top-line performance

▪ Facilitate hotel review/market/demand generation/deep dive meetings including the creation of focused and prioritized action items

▪ Liaise with Americas Sales training team where possible to expand training coverage and serve as additional resource for market training

▪ Prepare reports and materials for stakeholder meetings/requests for information EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

▪ Manage end-to-end process including the creation of actionable plans for Sales, Revenue Management and Marketing & Ecommerce

▪ Organization of key data reporting and quality control of the pre-work

▪ Co-Facilitate meeting discussion with property leadership, regional and discipline stakeholders around identifying creative solutions.

▪ Provide direction on action and accountability planning.

▪ Monitor and assess results of action plans for progressive movement. Determine effectiveness, and provide analytical detail if reprise of action items is recommended.

▪ Build and maintain rapport to gain alignment with stakeholders and subject matter experts (SMEs) for opportunities presented.

▪ Facilitate sales related training programs for hotels

 

▪ Partner with Sr. Team Leader and Requestor on identifying project scope

▪ Partner with Sr. Team Leader, develop action plan, and create tracking mechanism and communication of deliverables

▪ Lead project support execution and serve as the primary point of contact for assigned initiative support

▪ Leverage standards in sales, revenue management and operations as well as brand when executing project support and communicating outcome

▪ Monitor results on an ongoing basis against pre-determined metrics and provide recommended actions for action planning based on findings

▪ Take one-on-one consultative approach in the creating of customized presentations and other value-added tools

▪ Create accountability for project deliverables to hotel and or management company stakeholders (financial, customer, process)

▪ Provides detailed consultative collaboration to property and respective leadership in order for business to improve use of systems, increases productivity of associates and assists in influencing the compliance of standard processes 

▪ Deployment to temporary assignments across multiple disciplines as needed to Franchise & Managed hotels

▪ Coordinates labor scheduling and leads shifts, if required, across each project depending on property need

▪ Coordinates leadership to provide consistent, high quality service

▪ Communicates performance expectations and trains staff in processes

▪ Strives to continually improve guest and associate satisfaction and maximize financial performance.

▪ Responsible for pre-arrival, during assignment and post visit, communication to hotel staff

▪ Comply with State, Local and Property specific regulations and LSOPs

Education

• High school diploma or GED; 4 years’ experience in the hospitality industry

OR

• 2-year degree from an accredited university in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major; 2

years’ experience in the hospitality industry with a concentration on overall hotel operations

Experience

• Hotel or Sales, Events and or Market Operations experience or knowledge of operations across all departments

• Above property support

• Proven success introducing changes to complex operations

• Expertise and proven track record in managing complex, multifunctional initiatives

• Defining, deploying, and documenting processes and project support

• Ability to identify and recommend approaches to addressing risks in a positive manner

• Negotiate issues resolution with key stakeholders, including senior leaders

• Multi-brand experience preferred.

• Understands brand standards and operations requirements for performance in each of the discipline areas

 

Skills

• CI/TY systems (All Marriott sales and catering systems) knowledge preferred

• Remote solutions knowledge

• Minimum of three years’ experience in property/area/market or the group sales office

• Depth of sales experience in both full service and MSB

• Excellent sales leadership skills needed to “hit the ground running” in a variety of assignments and to train new sales associates.

• Proven track record in sales with strong working knowledge and execution of the Marriott Sales Call Process and the ability to close the business.

• Knowledge of Marriott sales tools and resources, and the ability to pull through to the assigned property.

• Knowledge of Marriott Sales Engines and Channels, and the ability to pull through to the assigned property.

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Event Specialists and Sales Executives for skill development.

• Solid organizational and analytical skills for planning, coordinating and monitoring implementations

• Ability to identify and recommend approaches to addressing risks in a positive manner

• Negotiate issues resolution with key stakeholders, including senior leaders

• Ability to consistently negotiate a “win-win” outcome

• Ability to distribute, assign and ensure completion of work throughout various teams without direct management authority

• Demonstrated interpersonal, problem resolution and teamwork skills coupled with the ability to influence and maintain relationships with associates in other disciplines such as Brand, Operations, and Sales & Marketing. Ability to maintain and grow relationships with internal partners; mine resources to produce value-added tools

• Communications, project and process management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects (from concept to product delivery) and set priorities

• Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and leadership skills with the ability to understand and navigate through the Corporation Proficiency in identifying customer needs; ability to take an account service approach.

• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
