The Vice President, BMSC Consulting – Brand is a key member of the BMSC Consulting organization, responsible for providing consulting services to key stakeholders in the Global Brand Management (Brand) organization. This leader works with Brand to define and develop strategies and offerings for Marriott International’s portfolio of 30 brands. The BMSC Consulting team supports all brands and operates across the full lifecycle of projects, from assessment of early “white space” opportunities to the development of complex programs. This leader thinks creatively and practically to develop strategic plans and to oversee efforts designed to facilitate support and execution of brand initiatives globally. This position will directly lead the team responsible for engaging stakeholders to develop and execute the company’s core brand initiatives that will enable successful delivery against the strategic priorities of Marriott International.

Prior experience leading the planning and execution of strategic projects and initiatives in one or more BMSC areas (e.g., Brand, Marketing).
Proven ability to build strong working relationships and gain confidence and respect of key leaders and decision-makers.
Strong process management, negotiating, influencing and problem resolution skills.
Experience/knowledge of Marriott functional areas and experience in reengineering complex processes.
Proven success in managing consulting projects, achieving objectives, effecting change, team management and meeting facilitation.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills with the ability to supervise staff members and manage multiple projects concurrently.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player with excellent written and verbal communication.
Detail oriented and highly professional; demonstrates extensive supervisory experience as well as strong client service skills and ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
Managing Projects and Priorities
Provides direction and assistance to team regarding consultancy projects for Brand leaders. Determines priorities and identifies timelines and necessary resources to ensure active engagement and on-time completion of all discipline initiatives.
Partners with stakeholders and direct reports to establish project governance structure timelines/milestones.
Obtains alignment with BMSC leadership and oversees efforts, including developing plans and deliverables, identifying opportunities, securing required funding, responding to resource needs, reporting on the process/progress to senior management, and resolving/raising issues where appropriate.
Provides recommendations to improve the effectiveness of processes or programs.
Leads assessment work to inform project prioritization and funding to achieve most effective pull-through of brand initiatives.
Defines specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work for self and direct reports.
Supports achievement of performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.
Guides on-going financial and business analysis support to BMSC leadership to support strategic decision making using the appropriate approaches, systems and resources.
Delivers presentations related to the strategic roadmap development and execution to senior management and other key stakeholders (e.g., owners, associates, customers).
Actively engages internal partners (e.g. change management and communications, human resources, legal) to prepare content for communication materials as needed for deployment of brand and marketing initiatives.
Managing Responsibilities with Stakeholders
Develops and maintains effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders across all BMSC disciplines globally with primary accountability to Brand executives. Fosters a positive climate to build effective teams that are committed to organizational goals and initiatives.
Assists direct reports with building and maintaining stakeholder relationships as business partnerships.
Updates stakeholders on key initiative wins and opportunities, responds to concerns, and solicits feedback. Engages leadership to develop and execute action plans to address gaps.
Continually reviews stakeholder feedback to identify and communicate current and future consultancy and project management resource needs of internal and external customers. Partners with BMSC Planning & Services leadership team to address gaps, provide process recommendations, and/or develop broader program solutions.

Promotes adherence to policies consistently, follows disciplinary procedures and documents items according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process.
Conducts annual performance appraisal with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.
Performs other reasonable duties as required for the position.
