Groups & Events Sales Manager

Comprehensive consultation and mentoring of the Group & Event organiser under consideration of the client’s detailed needs & expectations with the goal to ensure optimal utilisation and selling of the hotel’s conference & sleeping rooms and revenue maximisation in compliance with Kempinski standards.

Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl – Doha is located on its own secluded island, just steps away from numerous entertainment and dining options at the glamourous destination of The Pearl, in the capital of Qatar.Showcasing the finest European architecture, blended with traditional Arabian elements, Marsa Malaz Kempinski boasts 281 luxurious rooms – including 69 suites, two Presidential suites and two Royal suites. 

Key Responsibilities:
* Direct receipt, qualification and coordination of event & group requests (incl. leads, RFPs, etc.) defined by their direct supervisor.
* Handle requests according to the relevant standards within a maximum of 5 (business) hours of its receipt.
* Apply the Kempinski MICE SOP’s from group enquiry to contracting. 
* Ensure the ideal and most effective utilisation of the meeting and conference rooms.
* Carry out site inspections with potential MICE clients in coordination with the Field Sales department.
* Realise up sell possibilities to meet and surpass Group & Event budget goals.
* Thoroughly input, supervise and maintain the requests in the Opera S&C System according to the data input standards.
* Create activities to ensure ongoing maintenance of bookings.
* Generate proper proposals and contracts.
* Conduct regular competition checks.
* Review monthly results and forecasts to recommend and execute activities required to ensure the hotel increases the market share and maximises its revenue.
* Proper maintenance of LOS/CAN and UNC business.
* Further administrative tasks and other possible assigned duties.
* Performs any other duties as assigned to them by management.


Desired Skills & Qualifications:
* Local language – excellent oral and written skills (as applicable)
* English – excellent oral and written skills
* Additional language – beneficial
* Ability to work under pressure and within the team
* Strong leadership and analytical skills
* Ability to quickly adapt to a constantly changing market with a revenue positive effect
* Be proactive in achieving Event & Group revenue goals
* Relevant experience in Event & Group management. Hotel Operations experience a plus
* Analytical approach to problem solving and demonstrated ability to “think out-side of the box”

Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl - Doha will present 281 rooms, including 69 suites, 2 Presidential suites and 2 Royal suites. The hotel will feature a private beach and outdoor swimming pools, water sports facilities, yachts jetty, tennis courts and plush gardens and patios. The dining & entertainment options include 6 restaurants, a lounge café, a classy bar, a roof-top nightclub with large open-air terraces, as well as a pool restaurant and a healthy spa café. The 3000 sqm spa will feature more than 20 treatment rooms, a health club, indoor pool, exclusive female areas, beauty salons, sauna and steam rooms.

The new waterfront destination will feature superior meeting facilities including a 1100 sqm Grand Ballroom and 7 meeting rooms with separate entrance. The facilities also include a private suite, attached to the ballroom, ideal for VIP delegations or weddings.
