Meanwhile is a Wine and Cocktail Lounge with a Dining Room in the heart of Belfast, Mid Coast Maine, USA.
Our Lounge Area offers an A La Carte Menu with daily specials, focusing on drinks and small plates. Along with our Champagne and Wine List, we offer fresh "made from scratch" worldly trendy Cocktails.
Our Dining Room offers a Chefs Table Menu only. The Chefs choice will change monthly according to the season and local produce available. 
Most of our products are prepped or baked in our wood fired oven. We strive for simple, fresh, quality food. Sommeliers on site. Food and Wine pairing options.

Meanwhile is located at the lower level of the historical Ocean House, just few steps away from the harbormaster and the harbor walk, downtown Belfast Maine. 

The Owners, Alessandro and Clementina, were both born and raised in Italy. They started traveling outside Italy after graduating from University at age of 24. Before landing in Maine they have done some extensive travelling, working and studying all over Europe, Iceland and Australia.
Alessandro is Certified Neapolitan Pizza Chef by Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana in Napoli, Italy, and Meanwhile in Belfast is the only Neapolitan Pizzeria Certificaed by it in Maine.

This job offer is ideal for someone with some wood fired oven experience or willing to learn. The candidate is going to work alongside our executive chef and the rest of our kitchen team. The candidate will make sourdough, bake pizza napoletana, make bread and pasta, work with fish and meat, plate presentation, collaborate on menus and specials, special events and more. We are open 5 days per week dinner only. Total seating indoor 32. Patio seating in the summer 20.
Sponsorship available for the right candidate, otherwise the candidate must have the right to work in USA. Please specify in your cover letter.

Requirements

Must be able to communicate in English with the rest of the team. Coming from Culinary School, or have at least 2+ experience in upscale or fine dining setting, or 2+ experience baking bread. Experience baking Pizza Napoletana and wood fire oven experience is a plus.
