Job description

ABC Owned Television Stations (OTVS) is seeking a QA Automation Engineer will be responsible for setting up an automated framework, such as Selenium, and create automated test scripts for our digital products. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, passionate about solving complex problems, and has a track record of success in improving the QA process of testing our features and products.
Our ABC Owned Television Stations Group (OTVS) is comprised of 8 television stations and a national sales division with critical reach and market leadership across major U.S. cities. Our ABC OTVS digital media business consists of 8 responsive websites, multiple digital channels, native applications, and distribution platforms. Our Seattle-based team is responsible for the design, development and support of the evolving ABC OTV digital media portfolio of products. Responsibilities
  • Build a software test framework for our websites and apps, preferably using Selenium and Appium, or similar
  • Converting our manual test plans into automated test scripts
  • Consistently write performance-minded, highly-reliable code using OO best practices
  • Participate in code reviews
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of software application development experience
  • Write test classes that properly uses test and configuration methods; TestNG
  • Create and maintain tests written in Selenium Webdriver for Java
  • Proficient with Java, JavaScript, xml/json, testNG and RESTful API
  • Experience with build software; Jenkins or similar
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time-management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of independence on projects with little or no precedence
  • Ability to anticipate, identify and articulate problem areas and develop preventative solutions
  • Proven experience in identifying the relationship of bugs to software code
  • Thorough understanding of modern continuous integration practices

  • Ability to pay extreme attention to detail
  • Familiar with manual testing and analytics testing
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, equivalent technical degree, or equivalent experience
