We are looking for a  Regional Trade Sales Manager – Asia to join our fun and exciting team. Reporting to the Regional Trade Sales Director – Asia Pacific, with a dotted line to the Regional Marketing Director, this role will be crucial in developing and driving the international trade recovery strategy and plan into Merlin’s Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong attractions from key markets – India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and China, in collaboration with the local teams.

Main Responsibilities:

·        Working with the Regional Trade Sales Director and Regional Marketing Director to create a trade strategy that is anchored to global strategy and based on market, region or attraction knowledge, experience and required deliverables.

·        Develop sales strategies for key accounts/OTAs, delivering mutual sales and marketing benefits across the region – Bangkok, Busan, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore

·        Owning the Trade reporting for the region to effectively communicate to the business with a focus on Strategic Partners across the region – Bangkok, Busan, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore

·        Work with key Strategic Partners to implement activity and campaigns benefiting all Asia attractions

·        Work with the Regional Trade Sales Director, Regional Marketing Director and key stakeholders to establish and execute a robust recovery trade plan to deliver Inbound Trade volume, revenue and yield targets for Singapore, Bangkok and Hong Kong Midway attractions

·        Identify the most effective delivery for Inbound trade through existing partners as well as developing new partnerships.

·        Working with the Regional Trade Director, Regional Marketing Director and key stakeholders to agree the annual pricing matrix with tactical line items to support agility in the market.  Review pricing impact of trade monthly and adjust to align to consumer pricing changes

·        Working with the Regional Trade Sales Director and Regional Marketing Director to approve contract and commission terms for all partners

·        Support Local Sales Teams to drive digitization plan to ensure all Partners are 100% voucherless and booking journey is seamless

·        Ensure consistent Trade Partner Channel classification for all sites

·        Develop new Trade packages to suit market needs

·        Continue to drive Fewer, Bigger and Better Strategy and move smaller Partners to a Channel Manager

We are looking for the following skills and experience…

·       Have a minimum 5+ years’ experience within Tourism and Travel Trade Industry

·        Ability to manage and influence a large number of stakeholders

·        Proven ability to manage cross-functional programmes effectively

·        Proven ability in a B2B sales environment

·        Experience for developing and tracking against a business case

·        Proficient use of Excel to create and update reports and work with large data sets to draw insight from

·        Strong interpersonal skills and being able to adapt style to different environments

·        Budgeting and financial management experience

·        Passionate and driven individual, who can demonstrate their enthusiasm for sales acquisition

·        A proactive and creative approach to problem solving

·        Strong organisation skills, with the ability to multi-task and hit the ground running within a hands-on role

·        You thrive on ownership and accountability – and have a proven track record of acting on your own initiative to deliver sales

This role supports a number of regions; flexibility in working hours to meet relevant time zones is a key requirement.  Time management is therefore an essential skill to ensure deliverables are met and working hours remain tenable.  Generally operational days will be Monday to Friday with ad hoc requirements outside of this to meet business needs.

There will be critically relevant travel requirements within this role, but these should be managed to a business essential only level to ensure costs are controlled effectively.
