Job description


• Verifies that all items are received as per the purchase order / Market list & duly stamped as received and notify department concerned.
• Verify items received for quantity, price and quality and notify discrepancies to the supplier / purchasing department.
• Maintain log book for items received and partial delivery items.
• Follow-up with purchasing department for all outstanding purchase requests.
• Balance the receiving report at every month end with payable supervisor
• Assist in periodical cycle inventories’.
• Ensures all food & beverage items received carries long expiry period (Over one year)
• Complies with hotel safety, health & hygiene policy including HACCP.
• Ensure to complete the daily task without any delay, in-order to finalize the month-end closing by 2nd of every following month.

MAIN DUTIES: Storekeeper

• Responsible for verifying merchandise received in the receiving bay and keep in the respective storerooms.
• Arrange the received items in the assigned location inside the storeroom
• Fix hotel sticker / stamp, on all Liquor bottles & cigarette packets prior to arranging the items in the shelves.
• No liquor bottles / cigarette packets will be issued without hotel sticker / stamp.
• Prepares and issues requested items daily after appropriate approvals.
• Assist in periodical cycle inventories.
• Maintain the par stock at all given times.
• Ensures all food & beverage items received carries long expiry period (Over one year).
• Complies with hotel safety, health & hygiene policy including HACCP.
• Manages in FIFO methodology.

Built in 1979, the original Metropolitan Hotel was famed for being one of Dubai’s first hotels and an institution in itself. ‘The Met’, as it became affectionately known, reigned as a treasured ‘home from home’ amongst local and international guests alike for over 20 years.

In 2013 the Metropolitan Hotel Dubai closed its doors to make way for Al Habtoor City – bringing with it the end of an era.
