Kanika's internships are an excellent opportunity for you to develop your practical skills in an environment which fosters your understanding of the hospitality industry.
As a part of the restaurants’ team you are expected to learn delivering exceptional service to all of our guests. On the other hand you can expect from us to follow up on your training, aiming to shape you into a skilled, pro-active professionnal.
Wheter we orient you towards a Bar training or a Restaurant training, genereally the following can be expected from you:
Interact with guests and make them feel welcome
Clean and set up restaurant tables for dining
Maintain the station counter clean, tidy and organized
Re-stock station counter
Clean dirty dishes and sanitize tables
Load and unload dirty dishes trolley
Re-fill guests’ beverages – water
Serve beverage orders
To perform specific duties for mise-en-place such as glassware and cutlery polishing as assigned by one of his/her managers.
To become totally familiar with the bar list and to be able to answer questions regarding the preparation of drinks and to use suggestive selling techniques (where applicable).
Present and explain beverage lists.
Take beverage orders.
Handle payments and follows the hotel’s procedures and ensures the delivery of the bill and the change to the guests.
Participate in departmental briefings, meetings and trainings.
Participate at the preparation and operation of Cocktail Receptions (Wedding Receptions, Management Cocktails, Repeaters’ Cocktails) under the instructions of a Bar Supervisor or Manager.

About you
Are European Union Citizen or permanent resident
Currently study Hospitality Management or Tourism Management in a recognized Hospitality School or University
Have very good knowledge of the English language
Present a character distinguished by courtesy and positive attitude towards customer service
Understand and respect hierarchical structures
Have a strong affinity for and commitment to the hotel industry;
Show willingness to demonstrate initiative and perform shift duties;
Strong market sense and results orientation
Be able to communicate well and have a genuine smile
Although it is not mandatory, we will consider having an advantage, students who can communicate in Russian, German or Greek.
- Language required: English. German, Greek, and Russian are a plus
