We are looking for a Senior Leader for our American business. The Director of America will report directly to the CEO based in Paris and be part of our global leadership team. You will be responsible for assembling the people, processes and systems that allow us to consistently deliver a seamless experience to our guests and homeowners. You will be in charge of maintaining our exceptional operational quality day to day, whilst collaborating with other global leaders to initiate change on our path to sustainability. You will need to be able to thrive in a startup environment and be eager to roll your sleeves up and help to lead, promote and maintain the American market. You will also set, develop and execute our urban strategy in America so must be able to balance day to day delivery with strategic vision setting.

Based in New York, this role will require knowledge of the New York real estate community to build and execute a strong local strategy in order to drive host and guest growth, build brand awareness, and promote new business development.  You will also be responsible for leading our other operations in Los Angeles and San Francisco so ability to travel is key.

This role requires a highly organized and efficient leader able to motivate and lead a team based both in the same office and remotely. You will be structured in approach but will also be able to roll with the punches when things don’t go right. Prioritizing appropriately and maintaining a positive attitude will be key to success. You will be known for your drive and energy and have a flair for creativity to come up with innovative solutions to take the business forward across America!

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Taking full ownership of the US market

  • Building, motivating and managing an ambitious team of approximately 30 FTEs, spread between our New York and Los Angeles offices

  • Managing the North America P&L, from top-line to bottom-line. Must be able to interpret the financials of the American market.

  • Oversee the service, operations and home supply teams

  • Navigating a highly complex real estate environment, with local regulations and building rules, in major North American cities

  • Be a spokesperson for onefinestay in America

  • Strategically working with the group’s functional departments on finances, reporting, brand, marketing, human resources

  • Bring innovation to deliver growth and profitability

Qualifications and experience

  • You have 6-9 years experience in senior management role preferably in an people intensive business (think logistics, transportation, food service, retail, hospitality, or other similar high intensity operational businesses).

  • Must be able to roll with the punches, and more importantly, roll up your sleeves when needed. Startup experience is a major plus.

  • You must be an experienced manager of people. You’ll know how to motivate a team in high-pressure situations and collaborate cross-functionally.

  • You are comfortable being the brand ambassador for onefinestay and the visible face in the US both internally and externally

  • You possess excellent written/verbal communication skills, intellectual curiosity & passions outside of work

  • You’re a doer as well as a thinker with a passion for efficiency and accuracy and a constant demand for excellence.

  • You are empathetic, intuitive and with obvious gravitas

  • You are comfortable with high velocity of change, and fluid job descriptions, confidence in own judgement – can make sound decisions quickly.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees and people from all walks of life. Very open to feedback, eager to learn and improve. 

  • Must be willing and able to travel to Paris/London (every 2 months), and Los Angeles/other America locations (once a month).
