About your job:

In this role you will be responsible for the preparation of financial and strategic planning, monitoring variance against the budget, evaluating opportunities and risks, and implementation of cost control. As a leader, the role will assist staff members in providing value-added, meaningful, and insightful reporting and analysis for Senior Management.

Key Accountabilities:
  • Manage the Finance functions of station offices in China
  • Understanding objectives of the company on revenue targets, cost per unit and timelines
  • Guides financial decisions by monitoring and enforcing policies and procedures, as well as implementing corrective actions
  • Analyse monthly financial statements of stations, identifies the drivers of financial performance and process of potential solutions
  • Verifying and accounting of vendor invoices including ICH (IATA Clearing House)  invoices as per finance policies/IAPs, maker & checker process  and settle invoices with no delays
  • Verifying/preparing payment analysis for all major expenses including DOC (Direct Operating Cost)  and report any abnormal variances
  • Controlling budget for the station and give monthly exception report through review of monthly cost centre and calendarised reports
  • Identifying reasons for variances and control cost by proper follow up with respective budget holder
  • Local compliances including taxes, statutory obligations and timely submission/settlements to respective authorities to avoid any penalties
  • Coordinating with tax consultants in preparation of financial statements, revenue statements for purpose of business/corporate/income or any other kind of tax amount calculation to comply with local regulations
  • Ensures that receivables are timely collected and payables are timely paid with no penalties.
  • Funds are effectively managed as per corporate directives
  • Provide business support to Commercial and Airport Managers requiring financial assistance
  • All contracts are negotiated with best possible terms
  • Manage the purchasing of all items in efficient and cost effective manner
  • Evaluate the department or team objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and make appropriate changes if needed
  • Oversee and supervise employees. Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery
About you:

To be successful in this role, you will need a Bachelor’s Degree and preferred ACCA /CA/CPA combined with a minimum of 7 years of job-related experience. You are required to be a Chinese citizen or have a valid work permit to live and work in China.

In addition, you will have the following job specific skills and experience:

  • User level experience in any ERP (oracle financials preferred)
  • Proficient with spread sheets, Vlookup, Hlookup, Pivots, ASAP utilities
  • Strong aviation specific profile in either expenditure or revenue accounting
  • Should be able to analyse and explain financial accounts / Management accounts to finance and non-finance audiences
  • Knowledge on business contracts
  • Expert on local laws and regulations related to local taxes of different provinces in China,  payroll  taxes, social security, pension schemes, payroll,  book keeping, etc.

  • Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members
