Job description

PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE / SCOPE

 

  • The DOBD-Government Account is responsible for regional Government & national account sales functions in Shanghai markets.  Within this, the objective is to maximize sales, yield and revenue opportunities for all SLI Hotels on an ongoing basis.
  • Under the guidance of RSOSHA-DOSM, the incumbent shall develop, oversee and manage key Government Accounts relationship and new account development, achieving the revenue objectives of the company.
  • Lead and supervise all government related business discussion & administrative in RSOSHA office.

     

    CORE COMPETENCES

     

  • 5 years’ work experience in Government sales role in Shanghai 5-star hotels
  • Good Command in English spoken and written
  • Family with general in-used office software and email systems
  • Local Shanghainese

                                                

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Sales Functions

  • Maximize revenue through quality customer base optimization.
  • Develop new account, maintain own Government & National accounts database and be responsible for the revenue growth for both FIT and MICE of own portfolio accounts.
  • Interact and maintain a strong rapport with local government officials and be the one contact point for government affairs of SLI in RSO SHA
  • Oversees yearly Government & National accounts group contract rate submission and negotiation process to ensure that best financial growth for our SLI hotels during contracting periods as well as new hotels with potential are being enlisted.
  • Assist RSOSHA-DOSM to formulate and implement Government account sales strategies.
  •           Keep constantly communications with hotel government sales team and provide guidance for new on board hotel government sellers when it is required.

    Human Resources and Regional Sales Organization Functions

  • Identify, implement and monitor relevant development programs and ensure knowledge is shared within the workplace.
  • Maintain the highest standard of professionalism, ethics and attitude towards staff and clients.

    Administration

  • Develop and maintain clientele database and track their business activities in Global Delphi.
  • Pro-actively source leads for hotels and communicate these leads to the hotels through Meeting Broker.
  • Ensure all group leads are updated in Global Delphi on a timely manner.
  • Ensure all reports are presented in the required format and delivered within set time frames.
  • Achieve Key Performance Indicators as set and agreed to.
  • Communications
  • Ensure positive relationships are developed and maintained with all relevant external parties, including government, industry and regulatory bodies, suppliers etc.
  • In representing the company, to ensure that the Shangri-La brand is not compromised in any way when carrying out sales activities.
  • Communicate with the hotels’ DOSs, Government sales team and other RSOs on a regular basis for business related subjects.

     

    ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Achieve Revenue, Room-Nights and other strategic targets for self and the remote sales team.
  • Fully accountable for generating quality leads and opportunities for new accounts for Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
  • Fully accountable for execution of the Government and China National Account group contract process and new account development plan.
  • To meet the company’s goal with regards to the Government and China National Account in terms of ATR and revenue.
  • OTHERS

  •       2.  Carry out special projects as assigned.
