Title: Category Director, Fine Watches and Jewellery

ROLE PURPOSE
To build and grow the Luxury fine watch and jewellery offer, developing brand relationships, while delivering maximum value and efficiency to ensure NET-A-PORTER & MR PORTER provide the best curation of fine watches and jewellery to its customers.
The Category DirectoThe successful candidate will be instrumental in collaborating and building with the Richemont Maisons, a business development strategy and ambitious growth plan.
Working across the business and reporting to the VP, Global Sales, the role will define and execute longer term strategy and shorter-term plans, to adapt the global NAP and MR P brand vision and customer strategy for fine watches and jewellery.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develops and agrees mid and long-term strategic objectives, plans and budgets for Fine watches and Jewellery growth, in partnership with the Luxury Leadership Team. Promotes Group Synergies and integration ensuring contribution to the Group’s profitable growth.
• Cover fine watches and jewellery market and partner with the Buy team on process – with feedback to Buying and Merchandising Directors and the President, Luxury.
• Work with the jewellery buy team to achieve category target and all other relevant departments (Sales, Marketing, Commercial) to establish business of scale.
• Maintain and develop new vendor relationships. Work as liaison for negotiations on commercial terms between new vendors and Buying team. Actively pursue partnerships, collaboration, and exclusive product.
• Work cross functionally with all key stakeholders to ensure product and ranges are maximized and pushed through all sales channels creatively.
• Oversee all operational components of building fine watches and jewellery business.
• Support the education and training strategy in Luxury on Fine Watches and Jewellery.
• Collaborate with our world class team, to ensure the efficient and effective deployment of people and resources within budget to achieve the growth strategy.
• Deep awareness of competitive landscape; is aware of shifting market trends and adjusts business strategies to remain relevant and in a leadership position. Keeps abreast of competitor activities and industry developments in region and applies necessary reactive/proactive initiatives.

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
The Category Director shares responsibility of overall Net Sales and Profitability for the Watches and Fine Jewellery market, maximizing customer acquisitions and retention, Retail Margin, acquisition/retention costs, overall G&A and operating costs impacting the Luxury P&L.

• Working Capital and stock productivityr is responsible for the P&L for the Fine Watch and Jewellery category and leads the division’s hard luxury growth objectives, strengthening the brand position to become the most desired and unique luxury multi-brand, e-retailer for the sector.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Extensive sales and business development experience within the Fine Jewellery & Watch sector,
• Bold, achiever, assertive business developer, forged by successful achievements in competitive markets.
• Proven track record of delivering incremental sales growth in a commercial environment.
• Digital-first mindset, Marketing nous: technology, platforms and channels management.
• An expert in the Fine Watches and Jewellery market who speaks knowledgably about brands, trends and the luxury customer.
• A strong team player, incredibly proactive and collaborative, adept at managing pace and change.
