SENIOR MANAGER, LEARNING & TRANSFORMATION - NORTHEAST REGION

MAIN PURPOSE

The Senior Manager, Learning & Transformation (L&T) is a strategic member of Cartier North America’s L&T Team. This position supports all boutique and Specialist Retail (wholesale) learning initiatives in the Northeast Region, which includes one of Cartier’s global flagships, the New York Fifth Avenue Mansion.  The candidate should have experience in successfully implementing a blended-learning strategy for a high-profile, luxury retail environment.  Applicants should have expertise in building relationships and creating partnerships with various levels of leadership, as well as a variety of subject matter experts within an organization. Key responsibilities include leading cross-functional project teams that assess more complex performance gaps, partnering with the L&T Instructional Design (ID) Team on the implementation and measurement of learning curriculum, as well as solutions-focused leadership coaching. This position will also be responsible for leading network-wide L&T initiatives as assigned by the Director of Learning & Transformation.  Extensive facilitation experience for both in-person and on-line instruction and demonstrated success at achieving objectives through a variety of business partners is essential. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Learning and Development

  • Co-design, measure, and pilot advanced/specialized learning initiatives in the Northeast Region in partnership with the Instructional Design (ID) Team
  • Support the ID Team with train-the-trainer sessions for the launch of new, network-wide learning curriculum
  • Lead strategic planning workshops for the Northeast Region and Fifth Avenue Flagship boutique in partnership with the Regional Vice President, Boutique General Director, senior leadership, and Human Resources Business Partner
  • Draft, present, and implement annual Northeast Region Training Action Plan aligned with region- and network-wide business priorities
  • Oversee and monitor Cartier’s new hire onboarding program activations in the Northeast Region.  Audit compliance & address shortfalls
  • Adapt, prepare, and implement Cartier’s onboarding program for specialty positions within the Northeast Region
  • Assess engagement and monitor completion of monthly Learning Moments and e-Learning modules within the Northeast Region
  • Facilitate and/or support all core training content delivery (product, selling skills, client development, and others; Engage participants & check for understanding using core facilitation best practices
  • Create, deliver, and measure self-created micro-trainings based on specific needs within Northeast Region


Coaching

  • Implement a solution-focused coaching environment to support individual growth & larger-scale organizational change
  • Lead group/team coaching sessions for various levels of management to support individual/team growth and to implement action plans developed during Cartier’s leadership development program
  • Initiate coaching contract, timeline, and progress check-ins with coachee’s direct manager
  • Document progress of coachee’s actions on identified goals and measure achievement
  • Adhere to International Coaching Federation (ICF) core competencies throughout coaching relationship
  • Produce annual report on internal coaching program participation and results
  • Partner with ID Team on creation and implementation of network wide, coaching-related leadership topics


Collaboration and Cross-functional Partnerships

  • Maintain strong business partnerships with Northeast Regional VP and other senior leaders such as SVP of Commercial, Commercial HR Leadership, AVP of L&T, and Fifth Ave Mansion General Director
  • Collaborate with and/or delegate to a large network of business partners to ensure activation of L&T initiatives within the Northeast Region
  • Collaborate with the Boutique Learning Ambassador (BLA) and SR Brand Ambassador on timely implementation of boutique and SR learning moments and e-Learning engagement. Audit compliance and shortfalls
  • Elevate the BLA and SR Brand Ambassador performance through skill development workshop facilitation as well as periodic in-person, observed facilitation and shadowing.  Coach for success and improvement


Analyze and Propose Solutions

  • Draft project proposals on identified regional or network wide needs. Organize and lead team of key stakeholders through complex gap analysis.  Present report on findings and recommended solutions to AVP of L&T, Director of L&T, and Director of ID
  • Implement identified solutions from gap analysis (L&T team member roles/responsibilities, key milestones, measurement, & communication strategy) in partnership with ID Director
  • Lead L&T project team on network-wide, strategic initiatives
  • Lead complex business needs assessment in Fifth Ave Flagship boutique in partnership with General Director and Senior Leadership


JOB PROFILE

Education:

  • Educational background or commensurate experience in adult learning, facilitation, and instructional design principles
  • Professional coaching accreditation (Associate-level) from the International Coaching Federation (ICF) is preferred (candidate must be open to pursuing ICF accreditation if not)


Required Experience:

  • Demonstrated Learning & Development success in a high profile, customer-centric, luxury retail environment (or related luxury field) that includes UHNW clients, high sales targets, and flagship experience
  • Background in coaching all levels of leadership within a luxury retail environment (or related luxury field) with an emphasis on business and team development
  • Demonstrated project management experience in leading large scale, complex Learning & Development project teams to successful outcomes
  • Extensive experience in virtual and in-person facilitation of both large- and small-scale training events, especially at senior and executive leader level, is required.
  • Ability to create strong relationships, build trust, and establish credibility with senior and executive level leadership
  • Ability to adapt interpersonal communication style to a diverse team of internal, global business partners
  • Experience applying the ADDIE or similar design model
  • Kirkpatrick Training Effectiveness certification is a plus
  • Candidate must be based in New York City (Manhattan)


​​​​​​​ Technical Skills / Abilities:

  • Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required. Knowledge of Adobe InDesign is a plus
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • Ability to accommodate 40%-50% Travel
