Job Description: Position Title:  Director of Human Resources
Job Description:
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the strategic planning of all human resources functions for the hotel, including recruitment and selection, training and development, coordination of employee relations activities, effective performance management practices, and total rewards programs.  A member of the Executive Committee, reporting directly to the Managing Director,   this role provides the leadership team with coaching and support to achieve the overall objectives of the resort. 
Organize the human resources strategy in conjunction with Rosewood guidelines and initiatives.
Participate in the preparation of the annual business plan and budget, supporting overall objectives and financial plans.
Advise Managers on Associate issues and concerns; counsel Associates as needed.
Lead investigations into, and respond to all grievances within the timeframes outlined in the Collective Agreement.
Complete and maintain current records on a competitive wage and benefit survey for all hotel positions.
Ensure hotel compliance with all applicable human resources processes and policies, and federal and provincial laws and legislations.
Coordinate and execute employee relations, communications, and recognition programs & events.
Foster and promote a cooperative working climate, maximizing productivity and employee morale.
Perform additional duties, as assigned.
Skills/Knowledge Required:
Demonstrated ability to work with maximum accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail, maintaining a keen sense of urgency at all times.
Must be self directed, motivated and demonstrate exceptional service, interpersonal, and analytical skills. 
Outstanding communication skills in all interactions, both verbal and written.
Strong conflict resolution/management and decision-making skills.   
Technologically savvy, possessing a strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office software
Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable local laws and legislations. 
Maintains a flexible schedule to meet the business needs of a 24/7 hotel environment. 
Qualification Standards:
Experience: College degree or equivalent experience.
Education: Minimum five years’ experience as a Human Resources Director at a luxury or ultra-luxury property.
Language:  Required to speak, read and write English.  Additional language is an asset
Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
Licenses & Certifications: HR Designation is an asset.
