To join the earliest possible, we are looking for a motivated and energetic Engineering Manager to join Rosewood Schloss Fuschl.
In this role the Engineering Manager, will be responsible for managing and operating all plants, equipment, ancillary maintenance in an efficient and safe manner as well as managing repairs towards the protection of the property assets including structural aspects of the building.

Rosewood Schloss Fuschl To Open Late 2023 The legendary Hotel Schloss Fuschl will mark our second property in Austria when it reopens as Rosewood Schloss Fuschl in late 2023. Idyllically situated on the banks of Lake Fuschl, the graceful, historic property is reminiscent of a fairytale castle and has been welcoming illustrious guests for centuries. In this role the Engineering Manager, will be responsible for managing and operating all plants, equipment, ancillary maintenance in an efficient and safe manner as well as managing repairs towards the protection of the property assets including structural aspects of the building.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Providing advice to senior management on all aspects of engineering support, environmental best practices and controls and the operational efficiency of the property.
- Ensuring the effective financial management of the engineering department by setting maintenance budgets, capital works program’s and engineering plans and ensuring that performance against these.
- Being responsible for the general cost control aspects of maintenance, the preparation of departmental cost budgets and their implementation and submission to management.
- Assisting with capital project planning, in liaison with senior management, to ensure capital funding is effectively allocated and budgeted in accordance with company directives and philosophy.
- Planning, implementing, and administering energy management programs by establishing energy management ‘best practices’ to achieve reductions in consumption, without negative impact to customers or associates.
- Contributing to guest satisfaction standards by ensuring that technical support services are quickly addressed, and where possible, anticipates individual needs.
- Ensuring the safety and comfort of guests and that any requests for service are handled in a courteous and efficient fashion.
- Ensuring adherence to all statutory regulations and fire codes by regularly reviewing policies and safety procedures.
- Ensuring that any tests and inspections required on plant by statutory authorities are carried out when required and that all records and documentation associated with such tests and surveys are correctly kept and/or displayed.
- Ensuring technically competent engineering associates by developing a motivated, well-qualified engineering team.
- Maintaining the condition of the physical assets of the hotel by carrying out any upgrading and project work in liaison with designated internal departments and / or external consultants.
- Ensuring the cost effectiveness and technical efficiency of all services performed by outside contracts by close supervision.
- Managing the quality of all work completed by both associates and external contracted associates adhering to the standards of good engineering practice, and that all safety rules are consistently applied.
- Contributing to the effectiveness of management decision making by representing the engineering department at all management and associate meetings and by ensuring regular liaison with heads of other departments.
The ideal candidate should:
- Have experience at a luxury or ultra-luxury property.
- Have strong leadership skills, regarding establishing trust, transparency and achieving goals.
- Be able to identify challenges, new processes and be able to manage them.
- Be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment.
- Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.
- Be fluent in German, English and any other language is a plus.
- Have some international experience.
