About the job

We’re a team of 21 HR peeps; fourteen in London, three in Warsaw, and four in Berlin. This role will report into the HR Business Partner. The HR team was founded nearly 4 years ago, we’ve achieved a huge amount in that time and we’re looking for someone to join our growing team who’s excited to build things from the ground up.

In short, we work hard, get our stakeholders and have the full support of our two Co-Founders (one Co-Founder is very easy to spot in the office, he wears an animal themed jumpers on Friday).

We're looking for grafters and self-starters to join the gang, who can keep up with the pace and want to make a difference. We're friendly, happy, and most importantly, we work hard. We're not afraid to get our hands dirty and we're all madly passionate about our brand.

Questions you will help answer:

How do we support our managers to develop and engage their teams?

How can we welcome and engage our new starters on a consistent and global level?

How do we embed our values across our offices globally?

How do we coach and upskill our managers to deal with people matters correctly and with confidence?

How can we build a culture of high performance?

Things you’ll be working on:

Employee Relations

You’ll be a trusted advisor and “go to” person for managers and employees across the business on a range of ER topics such as:

  • Performance and probation
  • Absence
  • Flexible working and family friendly policies
  • Disciplinary and grievance (luckily these are few and far between!)

You’ll work with our two HR Executives to ensure that any ER cases are managed in line with our values and HR best practice.

Projects

You’ll own the following projects within our HR Roadmap:

  • Our bi-yearly engagement survey with Culture Amp, working with line managers to dissect the results and build people plans
  • Review our policies globally, creating policies where required and ensuring all are up to date with current employment legislation, our approach is “think global but act local.”
  • Build manager tool-kits and guides to help our managers to confidently manage performance issues within their team
  • Run internal management training courses such as Maximising Performance and Diversity training for Managers
  • Manage short-term absence consistently in line with employment legislation across our offices internationally
  • Create a consistent, engaging and values-led induction process across our offices internationally

You’ll work with the wider HR team on projects within the HR Roadmap which include:

  • Our wellbeing strategy
  • Employee culture, engagement and values
  • Maximising performance in line with our training and the Roadmap
  • Improving manager capability
  • Annual pay reviews and benchmarking
  • Talent Mapping and succession planning

Deal breakers…

We’re looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience in a similar HR Advisor role
  • Managed end to end the employee life cycle
  • Up to date knowledge on UK employment law and best practice HR
  • Strong Excel and numerical skills (we love data and the insights it brings!)

It would be advantageous if you had…

  • Knowledge of our systems – Salesforce, XCD and Culture Amp
  • Experience working across different countries or European employment law knowledge
  • A “train the trainers” qualification or knowledge or experience of running in-house inductions and training sessions
  • Experience of working in a similar environment - a tech startup that has expanded rapidly and moves quickly
  • CIPD qualified or working towards a qualification

And you are someone who…

  • Is keen to have real ownership to make stuff happen
  • Enjoys being the face of HR and understands the importance of the personal touch
  • Enjoys solving problems
  • Likes to exceed people’s expectations on a regular basis
  • Enjoys working with people and helping them grow and develop
  • Is results driven, yet light hearted and fun
  • Is keen to learn, stretch yourself and reach the stars
  • Can prioritise effectively to meet deadlines
  • Enjoys variety and working in a large team

Things you should know

We’re passionate, capable and driven to inspire the world to escape. You’ll need to work at pace and be excited by building and improving the HR function.

We all love a Leather Lane lunch - half of us are health nuts and the other half love dirty white carbs and sweet treats (enter...the snack desk)  so whatever your food preferences, you’ll always have a buddy.

We are an equal opportunity employer:

We value and actively seek out a richly diverse range of talent and our policies ensure that every job application and employee is treated fairly, with equal opportunity to succeed.
