The Walt Disney Park & Resort Technology (WDP&R Technology) team combines custom technology solutions with creativity to produce robust applications that enhance all aspects of the guest experience.
The Senior Manager will report to the IT Director, supporting project management activities for business technology infrastructure and applications for the Shanghai Disneyland Resort. Activities include status gathering and reporting, meeting support, issue/risk tracking and support of executive communication development.
WDP&R Technology seeks forward-thinking team members with accomplished professional experience who are passionate about delivering a quality product, desire to learn and grow, and enjoy working closely with business partners on both strategic and tactical challenges.
Responsibilities Day to Day Project Management and Oversight
  • Deliver timely and efficient solutions for all business and IT applications.
  • Employ effective organizational and time‐management skills to deliver solutions to routine and emergency requests and general needs within established timelines.
  • Create software application support strategy considering best practices and efficient use of available budget in a China theme park environment.
  • Lead creation, change and adoption of Technology support processes.
  • Establish centralized software application support processes incorporating business service level agreements.
  • Determine team roles and hire software application support team.
  • Attend operations reviews and hold team meetings to review previous performance and future improvement planning to include action plans.
  • Manage problem resolution as needed.
  • Determine appropriate use of resources to meet goals and schedules.
  • Manage regular preparation of issue and status management reports.
  • Anticipate project issues, risks and project impact (resources, timeline and budget) to proactively mitigate, communicate change and resolve promptly.
  • Ability to present project status, issues and offer options to executive team for quick resolution.

Develop and Maintain Team
  • Responsible for mentoring, training, evaluating, and developing team members.
  • Previous experience working in similar environment with demonstrated ability to train team members, inperson or virtually.
  • Provide support, information and assistance.
  • Accountable for managing broader issues and to respond and manage issues as appropriate.
  • Help the staff to set realistic and measurable goals, and develop reward program(s) as needed.
  • Take responsibility for motivating and retaining an outstanding team.
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities, and address performance issues as appropriate.
  • Monitor progress towards goals.

Key Skills
  • Solid experience with project management methodologies and project management skills.
  • Run effective meetings and provide accurate & timely communications of objectives, progress, status and issues.
  • Able to deal with ambiguity, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, balance priorities and work independently.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and processes.
  • Must have strong communication skills, and good command of English and Chinese language both oral & written, to obtain buy-in and foster compliance from project teams and stakeholders in adhering to PMO governance and project priorities.
  • Culturally sensitive and able to work comfortably within a combination of international and local teams.
  • Must be comfortable challenging team with technical related issues and learning new technical concepts quickly.
Basic Qualifications
  • Minimum 20 years of IT experience with at least 15 years related to IT technology planning, project management.
  • Degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Positive, energetic, results oriented to drive key activities and initiatives to completion that needs joint effort from technology, stakeholders and third-party teams.
  • Possess critical thinking and ask probing questions – seek to fully understand rationale behind project status changes made by managers on milestones and project plans and raise to management attention if changes are questionable.
  • Proven track record in managing contractors, vendors, and clients.
  • Ability to lead and partner successfully with teams, management and client.
  • Ability to manage multiple, complex, on‐going tasks and projects.
  • High level of integrity, judgment and follow through.
  • Strong coaching, people, and leadership skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Data analysis skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
