Duties

The Director of Rooms is in-charge of the overall supervision, direction and leadership of the Rooms Division in accordance with the objective, performance and quality standards of Shangri-La Hotels & Resorts. The Director of Rooms is a member of the hotel''s senior management team.  He/she will be an engaging leader with exceptional people management skills, coupled with strong business acumen and innovation. In this role, he/she is required to develop and review business plans and strategies, key performance indicators and manpower planning. He/She comes up with solutions to address problems. He/She monitors and manages the division’s expenses to ensure it falls within operation budget.

 

The Director of Rooms is a champion of organisational excellence. As such, he/she works towards achieving high levels of guest satisfaction. This is done through consistent execution of the hotel''s hospitality best practices. He/She builds high performance teams that work well together to create excellent guest experiences. He/She also works closely with the Human Resources department. Together, they ensure effective recruitment processes for employment and retention of outstanding team members.

  

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Rooms Division (Front Office or Housekeeping) in a similar 5 star international hotel group with minimum 1 year experience in the capacity of a Director of Rooms
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, customer oriented
  • Excellent motivator and team builder. Able to create a fun working environment, utilizing every interaction with the team as an opportunity to coach and improve performance
  • Strong sense of responsibility with high professional ethics
  • Strong decision making and analytical skills
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task
  • Aid innovation and lead managers to manage change
  • Leverage technology for productivity and innovation
  • Create financial budget and plans
  • Fluency in English is a must
