Job Summary:

The Senior Sales Manager is responsible for growing and generating business from emerging markets and industries and to develop new accounts for the hotel.  The Senior Sales Manager assists the Director of Sales in the day to day sales activities of the Sales Managers and the implementation of the sales activity plans as set forth in the hotel’s marketing plan to achieve the budgeted revenue.



  • Implements annual sales activity plan with measurable targets and expense budget to achieve budgeted revenues.
  • Personally handles and actively supervises the management of key accounts in each of the hotel’s revenue contributing market segments.
  • Where applicable, work closely with the National Sales Office(s) to assist the team in optimizing revenue generation.
  • Actively supports and implements group wide sales initiatives i.e. Advanced Purchase, Bonus Choice, Custom Stay, etc.
  • Responsible for a continuous assessment of pipeline accounts of each Sales Manager to evaluate its viability and potential.
  • Works closely with the Sales Manager to ensure effective and seamless transfer of “new business to account managed business”.
  • Drives cross selling to other Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts.
  • Attends trade shows and sales missions as outlined in the Marketing Plan.
  • Through the use of the Marketing Report Suite (MRS), participates in the development of marketing strategies for specific accounts or segments.
  • Keeps abreast of current and future competitors’ products, pricing, and sales programs and deploys resources to efficiently optimize RevPAR and achieve/maintain the leading market position.
  • Handles leads and inquiries from RSOs, and follows up accordingly with the events management team.
  • Assists DOSM and DOS to develop, implement and keep current the various segments of the marketing communications plan relating the sales.
  • Sits in and actively participate in the regular revenue strategy meetings and implement actions relevant to sales.
  • Actively participate in the Accounts Review meeting chaired by the DOS and attended by the DOSM and GM and the sales team. Conducts the meeting in the absence of the DOS.
  • Ensures compliance of the sales team with SLIM Delphi standards and integrity of database.



  • College Graduate / Degree  in Sales/Marketing/Hospitality Management/Tourism
  • Having at least 3 years of experience in a similar capacity in an international hotel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent in selling and negotiation skills.
  • Innovative and has a strong sense of market trends.
  • Self-Starter, Tactful and assertive in achieving business result.
  • Have strong customer focus and quality oriented
  • Indian Resident is preferred.
