Currently we are looking for an Application Operations Engineer to ensure the flawless functioning of all of SiteMinder’s Applications and Microservices. Broadly speaking these responsibilities fall into 2 major categories - System Health and Critical Incident Management.

What you'll do

  • Project ownership, meet milestones as agreed with manager. Suggest solutions to roadblocks you encounter. Develop and define project tasks.
  • Ensuring transparency and regular progress on assigned projects. Collaborate and contribute in discussions with fellow team members and their projects.
  • Acting as a point of escalation and resolve issues raised by Application Support Analysts and provide technical support for SiteMinder products.
  • Automating tasks, creating tools and processes for lower level support to better perform their duties.
  • Performing some system administration tasks as required on Ubuntu Linux systems
  • Monitoring the health of the Application Environment and the channels, to ensure the system is running smoothly always.
  • Coordinating and managing any major problems with the Application Environment, which may include but are not limited to, channel performance problems, systems outages, application bugs, application performance issues, and PMS performance problems.
  • Taking ownership of any issues or enhancements. Seeing issues through from point of escalation, conducting an impact analysis, coordinating with other SiteMinder departments, resolving the issue, conducting a resolution assessment and closing the case.
  • Continual analysis of the Application Environment, to identify bugs, performance issues and the root cause of systems problems.
