Digital and Customer Marketing Manager AMER
Regional Responsibility U.S., Canada & Caribbean
Reporting lines: This role reports to the Director of Marketing EMEA & AMER

The Digital and Customer Marketing Manager serves as an integral part of the marketing team, which supports SiteMinder’s business in AMER. This position is responsible for developing and implementing the regional digital and customer marketing plan to help increase brand awareness and enable the sales teams meet their commercial objectives. The regional digital and customer marketing plans includes a wide range of tactics all designed to achieve the above objectives. This entails close collaboration with other SiteMinder marketing functions and the wider SiteMinder AMER organisation to understand business goals and translating those goals into digital and customer marketing strategies for the target markets in AMER.

Specifically this position will own the regional content strategy and distribution through a multitude of channels such as paid and organic social, 3rd party communications, multi-touch campaigns incl via product in-app messaging, online advertising and more, all within an agreed budget and time frame. Additional responsibilities will include content localisation, supplier and partner management and ongoing prioritisation and reporting activity. In doing so the Digital and Customer Marketing Manager will contribute to his/her specific and the wider marketing teams goals. Additionally this role will have a regional responsibility of the T1 region U.S., Canada and Caribbean. The role is also expected to manage, mentor and support one report and junior member of the regional marketing team, currently comprising of a Marketing Coordinator

As a Digital and Customer Marketing Manager you will:

  • Develop and execute the AMER digital marketing plan in collaboration with the EMEA digital marketing manager and the other members of the global marketing organization; this while bearing in mind required relevance also for the language markets outside of the direct target regions in EMEA and Asia
  • Collaborate with the global social media manager to develop specific paid social strategies for the AMER region; evangelise the growth of social networks and the sharing activity of worthwhile content across the AMER organisation as a means to increase individual and combined reach into the SiteMinder hotel and influencer worlds  
  • Occasionally assist the global content and demand gen team with the production of regionally relevant and localized content e.g. infographics, thought leadership pieces, sales tools and marketing materials, including email campaigns, collateral, digital sales tools, training content, presentations etc; collaboration on visualization through the creative studio whilst adhering to branding guidelines where necessary
  • Work with a wide range of content distribution platforms and partners on a broad and result oriented distribution strategy; conduct ongoing research and identify new productive content distribution channel and partner opportunities
  • Own the SEM strategy for the AMER region and collaborate with the global SEM manager on optimizing return on all regional SEM campaigns
  • Forecast, monitor and track performance and achievement of all aspects of digital marketing against strategy and objectives;
  • Plan and execute the AMER customer marketing plan in conjunction with the global customer marketing manager, the EMEA customer marketing manager and the wider sales and marketing organisation
  • Plan and implement scalable localised customer upgrade campaigns including all relevant follow up; also regional customer specific communication and content distribution via email/ landing pages, customer nurture emails
  • Run customer survey campaigns for example or similar types of initiatives to improve market understanding and to build closer relationships with customers who are willing to join a customer reference program;
  • Forecast, track and optimise customer marketing performance and contribution to the AMER marketing targets
  • Develop and manage the sub-regional marketing plan for the T1 region U.S., Canada and Caribbean
  • Be the company’s marketing go to person for the U.S., Canada and Caribbean; collaborate closely with the sales leadership and sales teams of these regions to seek buy-in for the marketing strategy, the marketing plan and the detail activities
  • Assist the other member of the AMER marketing team in developing, executing and optimizing their functional plans for the sub-regional U.S., Canada and Caribbean targets such as e.g. localised event presence, webinar execution, partnership marketing
  • Assist the communications manager with implementation of a sub-regional PR strategy and programme for U.S., Canada and Caribbean; leverage the company’s active social media channels such as LinkedIn, Facebook, SlideShare, Twitter and blogs, in campaign planning and execution
  • Assist with recruitment of client references for video productions, case studies and press interviews in U.S., Canada and Caribbean
  • Work with marketing ops and the relevant members of the global marketing team on the development of marketing and campaign databases for this region
  • Collaborate closely with marketing ops to achieve optimized funnel performance for each channel and campaign; forecast, track, monitor and analyse success and ROI of all U.S., Canada and Caribbean sub-regional marketing activities and provide input to plan adjustments in order to optimize output for the sales organization
  • Excel in use of the company’s marketing automation and other tools, strive to implement and share best practice in marketing and project management
  • Manage relationships and deliverables of external marketing agencies and other service providers as relevant
  • Supervisory Responsibility (Direct and/or Indirect) Direct: 1 Marketing Coordinator (vertical focus Events/ Partnership Marketing/ regional focus LATAM)

  • What you Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, or related experience
  • At least 4 years’ experience in B2B digital marketing for enterprise technology or SaaS companies; experience working within the travel technology industry a plusIn-depth experience with Marketing Automation and CRM tools required
  • Extensive experience with web content management and related toolsKnowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (LinkedIn, Facebook, Xing, SlideShare, YouTube, Twitter, etc.) and how they can be deployed in different scenarios
  • Solid understanding of the sales and marketing funnel, conversion performance and how marketing contributes to revenue
  • Experience with other marketing tools such as Intercom/ other in-app messaging tools, Google / web analytics, social media management and monitoring tools, etc…
  • Experience with campaign and content localization
  • Exposure to AMER markets and working across multi-locations with different cultures also a plus
  • Hard working, goal-oriented, commercially minded and with a high level of energy and enthusiasm; able to operate efficiently, effectively and professionally within a fast paced, dynamic and results driven business environment
  • Motivated team player with successful project management and multi-tasking skills;

  • Outstanding oral, written, presentation and overall communication skills; Spanish would be a plus

  • Advanced proficiency with Google applications and Microsoft Office applications for MACAdvanced proficiency with Marketo / similar marketing automation tools
  • Proficiency / familiarity with Asana and other functionally specific marketing tools such as Sociabble, web chat and web optimisation software etc a plus
